Really ?
You do realize that china is it own set of server with their own rule. Sure Square has "some" say in it but it is mostly up to the Chinese partner to decide what, when, where and how much.
They also gave a lot of old V1 reward not just sell it. For example, the shoe that let you sprint infinitely in city. It was a ffxi-ffxiv promo.
That how licensing work. They give most if not all the right of it for money and feed them update. If they're part that displease them they can change them.
It might have been even part of the deal that let us have all these sweet sweet exclusive item.
Since it is separate and there is no migration possible i don't see why it would matter.
Sure if they sold it/gave it away here i would be piss off.
I guess as they give some of their exclusive items , they feel need to give them our exclusives items
But they have a lot of exclusivites we havent. And we havent alot of exclusivities in our own server :/
Funny is they gave us chocobo angel/devil bard but no winged dresses ???? I'm not wanting it but unfair for people wanted it ;(

But SE is a business, they have to make money :^)If they do this on the na/jp side I'm done.
I always said this is the final straw for me. Seeing as how it was our exclusive reward I don't really agree with this...at all. Th fact that they did not have 1.0 does not justify it imho. Without legacy players they wouldn't even be playing their game.

Projects have budgets. There were no people to subscribe to FFXIV before it came out the first time. The money had to come from somewhere. Many people believe they took the money from their cash cow at the time, FFXI, and continued to do so. Basically because update quantity/quality suffered conveniently at the same time. SoA was most likely an attempt to regain their losses on FFXIV.
They were already into production of ARR before a reduced subscription was re-instituted. Maybe the Legacy player's loyalty convinced them to continue, and yes, they contributed a fair portion of income to do it. However, it's hard to believe they were the sole source of income to go into the projects. They need to stop acting like they made the game, though, and pretending they were the only one to contribute money towards it.
And furthermore, if they love this game so much, why would they be hurt that SE would want to make money to continue it however they can? I mean, really... You're going to quit, having just cried about being subscribed since 1.0, because China gets a stupid chocobo? /facepalm

ROFL do you even know how the Legacy campaign worked? for that statement I guess not. That kind of ignorance is really painful. Im not trying to be mean but you are sadly misinformed. Legacy players actually were PAYING when they didnt have to, THEY SUPPORED THE GAME your point is very invalid you need to understand people who PAID for a game that had almost Zero end game what so ever... yes they deserve the items with out no we wouldnt be here, SE may have gotten a slight support from XI funds but again if there wasnt enough interest who would pay millions of dollars to redo it, when they could have scrapped it. You gotta think about that

Yeah, you had to pay for 90 days while 1.0 was still running. But again, you act like Legacy players were the only source of income toward SE at the time. At the very low end (judging by the amount of names in the credits) they produced at least 1.7mil. Do you really believe an MMO (rebuilt from the ground up) only cost around 2mil? If so, I would find you "sadly misinformed." Especially considering production began on 2.0 in January 2011, and the Legacy program wasn't introduced until 2012. Did Legacy players go back in time to fund that year of production as well?

Im not exactly misinformed and considering you joined in 2015, I promise I understand the situation more than you, I dont understand the NEED for old items why would people want that... instead why not ask for NEW special items to show that YOU supported the game? I constantly see this crying about legacy players, and legacy items. It baffles me or is it the fact people cant have it now they want it? But this is kind of a slap to the face to the loyal fans who did help support the game when it was bad.

I joined the game in 2014, but that doesn't mean I wasn't following it. I simply had no ability to play 1.0, or I would have. I would have opted in on some other form to pay toward 2.0, if given the choice, as I was interested in playing a new FF MMO. (A lot of people think they just took money from FFXI anyway.) But I never wanted anything out of it. I still wouldn't have threatened to quit over legacy items. I don't want them, nor do I care who gets/wants them. Hell, they didn't even have to give out anything. You mention deserving them, but really all you were doing was hedging your bets that 2.0 would come, let alone succeed. But I digress.Im not exactly misinformed and considering you joined in 2015, I promise I understand the situation more than you, I dont understand the NEED for old items why would people want that... instead why not ask for NEW special items to show that YOU supported the game? What baffles me, is when people cry and say they're going to quit because someone else has a chance to get some digital code. It doesn't make any sense coming from a supposed die hard legacy player that "suffered" through 1.0. Like that's some badge of honor. At the very worst, it was the equivalent of paying for a bad game twice. We've all paid money for bad games. It makes them sound like an entitled brat, or some kind of jilted lover. "We made FFXIV:ARR what it is, by tossing money at it for 90 days. Nevermind the 5-6mil supposedly playing now. Nor the millions that SE put into it to begin with. Us 33,000 made it ALL happen!" I'm not denying they helped, but they didn't set the stars in the sky.
