I said that as a warning that the end-game community can be more toxic, I never said they all are. Plus, would you rather they got a heads-up about it now so they can steel themselves for it, or find out the hard way and wonder what the heck happened?

I'd rather a topic about a happy occasion and a happy player stay happy, personally.

In a perfect world, that would be the case and I wish that would be the case too. But this is no perfect world, so sometimes a little realism is good. That being said, believe it or not, I am glad he's enjoying the game as new players are the life and blood of a game's continued existence, but unfortunately I felt I needed to be somewhat realistic here. Could I have phrased it better? Certainly, but the point I was trying to make still stands.

Well I deleted the post. Reported it beforehand though so SE can see just how caustic I am to the community and act from there. Yes, I accept I'm a human, yes I make mistakes (even though I shouldn't). The negative first post is now gone, and with my posts reported we can get back to this thread being positive.

That's a great outlook to have. And don't let the foums fool you. I just came back to the game about 2 months ago and only ran into one less than savory player while grouping. Everyone else has been great and decent. This community is far from being as toxic as many claim. Even in the endgame.
