I think it is a waste of time.

I can't eat chocolate chip cookies anymore, because when I was little I ate an entire chocolate chip cookie cake and was sick for days. It's stuck with me ever since.![]()
10/14/11 - FFXIV community civil war erupts. "I'm paying and the game is gonna be awesome." VS. "I'm leaving and the game is gonna die." Let the battles begin!
It's one of the many "rituals" which should be left in the past. You can love someone and be with them, only them, without marriage. Animals can do it, why can't we? Marriage simply shows our insecurity in ourselves and in others to the point that we need to put our "love" on contracts and in the hands of the government. It's sad, that in 2011, society is still so infantile.

what are you insinuating?Honestly will be very upset if there is no same-sex marriages this time around.
EDIT: About a year ago someone from eorzeapedia (now known as lamerescape) asked Tanaka (i think) in an interview if they would a) bring back weddings b) allow same sex marriages. I think the answer was leaning towards yes for both. If it's up to Yoshida, judging by his flare for fashion, it won't be an issue.
>_>Q: We have a question about the trademark glasses you wear. Do you have one pair for work and another you use outside the office? How about that scarf?
A: No, I wear the same glasses whatever I'm doing! Although I tend to wear shades even more. And that's a stole, not a scarf!

Okay, apparently people are completely blowing this whole thread out of proportion. I was only proposing the idea for in-game marriage - regardless of the orientation. Get back on topic, please.

My apologies, then. I interpreted your tone as that of being...I suppose the best word for it would be bitter. In any case, I'm not sure that the majority of people view marriage the same way you do. Some people just like making a statement that they belong to another, and nothing says that better than getting married. Some people also have organized marriages, and that's just a cultural thing. It'd be nice to avoid all the bureaucracy, that I agree with you on. Of course, that doesn't mean you can paint all married couples with the same brush. It's one of the many "rituals" which should be left in the past. You can love someone and be with them, only them, without marriage. Animals can do it, why can't we? If I'm not mistaken, I'm sure creatures in nature do the same thing - do they not? Whether or not they're capable of love is beyond me, but the male establishes his exclusivity to his partner/partners through displays of strength. Of course, in the society we live in we distort that by determining who's a better lover in bed or who has the most money. Sad, but true, and it's because of that bureaucratic madness that such things happen. If people are not to be wed "legally", then at least establish some sort of sense of exclusivity...I'm speaking in terms of outside the game, anyway.
Someone needs to learn how to read..."Same sex marraige would destroy the sanctity of marriage in a video game!!!!!1111 zomg nuuuu"
News flash, opposite sex marriage has been destroying the institution of marriage for centuries. Ever heard of divorce?
