The MRD tank we had in there... was something else. She had several lvl 60 classes, so she obviously knew better, but after every single pull, she would hop around in a circle where the mobs died for a few seconds, turn and RP walk (she was running normally the rest of the time) toward the next group, stop and stare at the them for a few seconds, then pull and continue as normal. She did it Every. Single. Pull. The dungeon took at least twice as long as it should have. Never in my life has my 'I will not pull before the tank' creed been so sorely tested.

I would've called it out. I don't care. Not in a rude way but just like "what's that thing you're doing after mobs die?"

Then depending on the response, it could go from me shrugging it off all the way to me leaving if a vote kick doesn't pass.

Thank you very much for the elaborate reply and advice. Although it kind of feels as if you think I blame this on healers - I absolutely do not. I've had healers straight up not heal me because they just spaced out while spamming something in Cleric Stance. But that's fine, they apologise, we carry on. The community in general has proven to be very unhelpful while leveling and that is what put me off of tanking. Never had these issues as healer/DD. But as you said, I was probably unlucky.. Unlucky enough to get grouped with people that can't even write proper english while flaming and make leveling an absolute pain. Oh well

nah, didnt mean to make it sound like you blame it on healers at all, but a healer will be the first one to cry if he cant handle big pulls, even more so when they are inexperienced sprouts which is why I emphasized on
making it easier on them despite doing the big pulls. Nothing more, nothing less ^^

Well,as I said,I like helping out and while I still get the occasional "please teach me your ways, senpai" kind of "student" xD the vast majority doesnt reply or basically feels offended.
Heck even many bards have taken a PENALTY and left the dungeon after kindly asking for their foe requiem to be played. I must be the worst offender on earth. Really.


PS: poor english grammar + flaming? Mhm,indeed we have plenty of those on our Datacenter and these are usually the ones with the poorest overall performance as well. :>

The worst part is that isn't even the healers.. It is always DDs qqing, complaining, being smartasses.. Like come on.. Just focus on killing things in the right order >_> Let me and the healer figure out what we can manage in terms of pulls etc.

In my experience if a DPS is complaining about pulls it's because a tank or the healer missjudged and got killed and the DPS are the ones soloing the pack that got pulled. When the tank and the healer over pull and die cause they F'ed up it's the DPS who have to put up with that. It shouldn't be DPS just shut up and let me and the healer talk, it should be an EVERYONE should talk about what can be done. But that's just my opinion. Everyone is equal and needed in the party. No reason to treat DPS like slaves.

Funny enough there was a run just like that yesterday. The healer who was in nothing but 230 gear asked for huge pulls in BW. My friend was the monk in the dungeon as I watched. Ofcourse they wiped due to the healer not being able to keep the warrior alive, my friend was the last one alive trying to kill as much as he could before the wipe. Tank instantly left, and healer complained about them leaving. My friend just laughed cause that never would've happened if the healer didn't bite off more then he can eat.

I finally met one. After such a long time. I almost believed they all died. But this one restored my faith in mankind.

A second DPS who can pull his own weight!

Last week's expert roulettes were full of lazy / bad people. I had to carry the other DPS every single day.
This time, I got another Summoner. The others were a Paladin and a White Mage.
The enemies melted away in seconds. Before we even realized it, we faced the last boss.
Our tank comments: It's so nice to have DPS who DPS. Damn right, man, damn right.
I left the Duty with two coms.

Now, the question is:
How many hellish roulettes will I have to endure until I get such a group again? I'm frightened

Well, I have had DPS complaining about big pulls. The excuse I received was "AoE rotations are boring". Although I kinda agree with that statement (for some classes), other were made for AoE dpsing. Imagine the look that a SMN would give me if I do small pulls. -.-

I've never seen that, but I'm not goign to say you're lying. Everytime I've seen a DPS complain is simply because it's after a wipe and the wipe wasn't cause of the DPS. Maybe my view is limited but half the time if it's a wipe due to over pulling... it's cause the healer or tank couldn't keep it up. Then again my friend would post all his horror stories if he could since he has the WORSE luck in experts at times with healers who don't heal or dps, and tanks who run off and die and he turns into the monk tank for the run. He hates that.

I wont lie, I'd kill you:P or probably eat penalty (at least in 60/expert)
Its detrimental to a SMN to not do big pulls. If you know what you're doing youre MELTING big packs away on your own.

So yeah, fully agreeing with you there!
