You know what really grinds my gears? The fact that in the current meta, HEALERS are EXPECTED to DPS .... Think about it, a HEALER that is meant to HEAL, is expected to DPS ... DPS .... again D P S .... If I wanted to DPS I would play a DPS class .... That really grinds my gears.

I don't want to start this argument again, but... you are basically saying that as a Summoner, I should be totally fine with not resurrecting anyone in the raid and potentially cause a wipe, because it's the healers' job, right? If I wanted to resurrect people, I would've rolled a healer, right? You know what really grinds my gears? The fact that in the current meta, HEALERS are EXPECTED to DPS .... People like you really grind my gears.
If you read my statement, it is the fact it is EXPECTED for a healer to DPS .... As a healer it should be a CHOICE to DPS or not. It should NEVER be expected for a Healer to DPS, it should be a CHOICE however. Not sure how this was confusing to begin with, but here you go![]()

You got the tools to do some damage, so why not use them? When your party is at 80-90% HP and got a Regen, are you going to just stand still or will you do the unthinkable and jump around? Healers, like any other role in the game, should not have any downtime, ever.
Tanks who do small pulls then all of a sudden runs towards the next set of mobs while the DPS are still killing the first set.
Me personally, no I wouldn't. However, in my opinion, it is odd that it is EXPECTED for a healer to DPS, it is a game meant to be played for fun. In other words it should be a choice to do something outside of your role. I would never expect a healer to DPS, just because it takes an extra 30 seconds to kill a boss. Big whoop.
Going off of your previous statement, is it nice when other people step out of their roles to help out? Sure. Do I expect it? Hell no. Play the way you want, otherwise the game isn't worth the investment.

Thread about to go to shit in 3...2...1...You know what really grinds my gears? The fact that in the current meta, HEALERS are EXPECTED to DPS .... Truth be told though, symentically "expected" still implies the possibility to chose, or rather, deviate. Granted it also implies it's not a popular possibility, but hey... xPxPxP
On-topic: What really grinds my gears is people falling into public shaming, name-calling and general toxic behaviour so bloody friggin' easilly.
I know it's the internet and all, but I just can't understand how you can feel good about yourself publicly shaming someone for not having BiS stats on a relic or just utterly bring someone down because a mechanics went wrong. I just don't see how that is going to help one do the mechanic better. If anything what will happen is that someone is getting stressed-out, focussing on defending oneself against the mental assault and most of the time lose focus on other important things.
Sure, maybe it will distract you from your own hurts and such for a moment, but it's a cheap and unconstructive way of getting about this. It's just a cascading failure from there on, as the only thing you've managed in the long run is make someone else feel bad, causing them to possibly lash out and spread said negativity to others. This in turn comes back at you because everybody is on edge, always having to look over their shoulder, having defenses up against more of said behaviour, etc, etc. It's really just digging our own grave and destroying any sense of community.
Hmm, maybe this game is getting to big? Now I feel like I need to take a look into literature on group dynamics! xP
