Am i missing something? You do -not- have access to all teleports straight off the bat, you have to either run to the camp yourself or have someone who has been there take you.

http://images.mmorpg.com/images/gall...4915bd9665.jpg <- How does this not reek world of warcraft? Also, as far as Rift being a "WoW clone" that argument is thrown out. Rift took things from EVERY GAME and made it better. The graphics are not shotty at all, while they are not FFXIV quality they are nice and not copy paste environments. The biggest thing is hey NO LAG!! Theri system is much more polished, and everyone saying "WoW clone" and FF will always be better....I thought the same thing. Don't judge till you try it is all I'm saying.
The only people who didn't have access to any telepoint in the game were the people who played on Sep 22, 23 and 24. After that, pretty much everybody had all the telepoints since your friends can just warp you there.
There were only a SMALL amount of people who actually had to walk to the points themselves. Now, SE gives no reason to do so.
If people want to explore all the points, they will. If they have a friend who wants to blow 100 anima teleporting them to every single camp in game then that's their choice. The only people who didn't have access to any telepoint in the game were the people who played on Sep 22, 23 and 24. "Whoops my bad. I forgot that most of the people who still play this game wish SE would just start everyone out at rank 50 with invincibility and ten-trillion gil." -Belgian Rofl
"If people want to earn that ten-trillion gil legitimately, they'll just give it to someone else and start from scratch. Don't ruin it for the rest of us." -Totobi

Done editting your post and making stupid comparisions? The majority of people who play the game (And not just troll for attention) go to most camps and nodes by themself, not once have i seen someone shouting "WTB teleport taxi to every camp in coerthas!""Whoops my bad. Besides, when they add other transportation methods, they will most likely revise it anyway.
I think that currently, the teleportation is fine. However, once we have chocobos, it should be changed that we should only be able to teleport between the major cities, and anima should be reduced to about 10. As convenient as being able to teleport anywhere at any time is, it also destroys the sense of scale the world has.
I'm happy with the current system.
I use my anima sparingly, often running to make local leve deliveries and only teleporting to the more difficult locations. When partying with my LS we usually take turns teleporting.
Anima and teleports are just a time saver mechanism so that people can spend less time on transportation, and more time on fun things like battles and crafting. Chocobos sound like a nice addition, but I don't think they should take away the current anima and teleport system.
I figure budgeting anima is like budgeting your finances. If someone has bad spending habits and they get more money, they just spend more money and are still struggling at the end of the day.
One could also try to do the equivalent of "living off the grid" by just running everywhere if they feel that anima and teleporting are fundamentally bad. It's a free world. ^^
