no f2p, f2p = more $$ out of your pocket. You will always pay more in a f2p game then you would in a p2p. if you stay in a f2p game playing for free will will be very gimp. statistically(and ironically), f2p almost always cost more than p2p.

All this guy is doing in the video is giving his opinion. He doesn't even give any good reasons why the game is going to die. Final Fantasy has always been a successful series, and they would NEVER let their game just die out like it was some low end mmo.LOTRO has a much higher playerbase then this just sayin. You obviously dont know much of what you are talking about cause if you did you would know the freemium model is quickly becoming the most succesful way to run an mmo and most failed launches have come back as those with much success. I like how hard facts and what not are only required from one side of this argument. opinions and fallacies are just fine for the other however.
He didn't even mention the great updates they've been coming out with, nor did he mention the great updates coming from now until 2.0.

Most likely because he doesn't even know about them. You are nobody on the interwebz unless you spout off on subjects on which you are little informed. All this guy is doing in the video is giving his opinion. all the video is. is bassicly one great big advert for starwars. and what he said about final fantasy was just to try and lure away player from this game to that gameAll this guy is doing in the video is giving his opinion. What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

Didn't you hear? In order to enjoy a video game you have to fool yourself in order to enjoy it, you can't legitimately enjoy a game, stop living in the 90s when gaming was about playing what you deemed fun! This is 2011, you can only enjoy games other deem good!Yeah same here, and I have a few coworkers that left a long time ago, that are starting to get interested again by what I have been showing them, no one is fooling themselves or being "blind fanboys" we see the changes, and see what is coming ahead, and are willing to take the chance.
i personally cant wait till other deem this game good. it looks like something i will really enjoy. when i'm allowed
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

Really? you were NOT aware the game was P2P? You failed to read the developer notes on 2.0? (do you not have a .pdf reader?) You have not noticed players who have been gone for months come back, or noticed the recent influx of new players? Either you are logging in only to maintain your forum access, or you really aren't all that observant. Everything I stated in my previous post can be proven through the instruction manual, information provided by SE, and simple observation ingame.

First, for the part I bolded... It's funny. Notice how you can always tell which features someone trying to hate on the game feels are definite improvements, by how they try to downplay them in the same breath? In this case, it's the claim that the quests have no relevance lore-wise.It's not "totally different." There is still no simple party search function. The UI is still server-side which causes menu lag and lag when you go to sell things. There still is very little content.
The only obvious things different from now and launch are:
Slower 1-20 leveling
No fatigue
Choco and airship
More missions.
More quests that really serve no purpose lore-wise.
Behest changes.
Levequest timer changes.
Ifrit.
3 Dungeons.
Auto attack.
NMs that respawn so fast they might as well be normal mobs.
Someone who played at launch and then started again today would likely only notice these things. Don't fool yourself and think everyone is going to believe this is a "totally different" game when it's not. 2.0, yes. 1.19, no. It's miles ahead of what it was at launch, but that's not saying much. The content in the game right now still isn't enough to justify launching with.
Lame argument.
Side-quests don't have to have any relation to the lore. That's why they're "side quests" and not "main storyline missions" or quests. They can be simply isolated mini-stories of a given NPC dealing with some situation that they want your help with. It's the same in any MMORPG and, indeed, any RPG period.
That statement was nothing more than a weak attempt by you to dismiss an element that you know damn well has seriously improved in the game, especially in the last few updates. It's especially notable for people whom, like myself, abhorred having to rely primarily on levequests or the occasional storyline or class quest to have anything to do.
I'm literally at the point now where I'm only doing leves if I feel like it, and most of the time it's grouped with linkshell members. My quest journal is almost always full, and I've always got other goals I'm working besides that.
FFXIV has filled out substantially and feels much more like an actual MMORPG now, than the mere shell it was months ago.
As for the rest of the list... speak for yourself. Some of those specifics were major things for a lot of people and/or otherwise content that people are enjoying. Anyone who's been following the forums here, and elsewhere will know this. That you don't think they're notable additions/changes doesn't mean they aren't for anyone else.
And with your last paragraph... again, speak for yourself. The general consensus I'm seeing from a lot of people joining my LS who've come back to the game after being away since even only a few months back are mentioning how different the game feels, how much more there is to do, etc. Some of those checking it out after leaving soon after launch are mentioning that it feels and plays like a completely different game already.
Speaking for myself, I couldn't keep myself interested in the game for more than a few days up 'til 1.18. 1.18 made a big step toward keeping me interested and now since 1.19 I'm finding myself playing, or wanting to play on a daily basis as much as possible. I actually have to pull myself away from the game to get other things done that I need to do.
There's a reason why there are more people playing now than there were back after launch or even some months ago. It's not because people don't think anything you listed there matters.
So again... speak for yourself.

I like how they had to greenscreen in the backdrop of a ROOM. Really gives it that professional feel.
Seriously, this guy is just spouting hypothetical nonsense. He even starts off by saying "They say its finally done, it's now the game it was meant to be when it came out." SE, and Yoshi, in no way said that in any way. The was the point of that huge update post, to show us the roadmap to the game they think will be the "finished" version.
Starting off with a flat out lie? Bad reporting.
"It's gonna die, and that's it." Yeah, thanks for giving us some supporting arguments for that claim. He sounds like soemone that just likes to talk about his opinion rather than report anything.
Stopped giving you any credibility at this point. I didn't say those were the only changes.
I said:
Oh, sorry I forgot Materia as one of the largest changes too. Players that played briefly at launch and come back aren't going to take notice of all the tweaks and changes. They're going to notice glaringly obvious changes like I listed.Someone who played at launch and then started again today would likely only notice these things.
