Always the way though: bust your butt keeping people alive and you either walk away with just one comm or none.
I'm like I don't even care anymore at this point.


I also just got out of a run of Gubal HM that lasted 30+ minutes.
I was, again, top DPS. According to my, ahem, "crystal ball."

I was on AST.
Again.
Buffing the DPS out the butt.
Again.

Where do I find these people?

Casting Adlo or Noct Aspected Benefic does not cause any aggro generation, unless the cast goes off while the tank is pulling/doesn't have aggro on all the mobs. I like to put up shields because then I can DPS more, and not have to worry about people taking damage the minute I turn on Cleric Stance (always fun to have to heal them in CS until I can turn it off) because they have at least a little bit of cushioning if they decide to eat AOEs. It's usually not an issue unless the tank decides to pull before the cast is finished. Then all the aggro goes to the healer.

I really dislike it when I precast my shields (Adlo or Noct AB), and the tank just lets them wear off because they think shields are the same as regens. ESPECIALLY IF THE SHIELD CRIT. Nothing aggravates me more than a tank wasting a Crit-lo + E4E.

Was so happy I got a critically aspected benefic shield on the tank and he turns it off right away and I fall to the ground and cry "Nooooo! It was pre-pull, it was fine."

Although one thing that drives me up the wall even more is when DPS who are low on TP, cancel my seldom used Spire Cards, for reasons of I wish I knew.

I've even had some dps cancel Balance because they didn't want to cause 'trouble' for the tank .___. in the fight.

(tanks's almost on top of mobs by the time it goes off. :P). Sorry if my post came off as grumpy, it's just all week I've had Expert roulettes like this, and it's all been SCHs and I dunno what's happening. OnO;

They are more than likely casting it just as the tank begins their pull, so thats always going to cause an initial amount of hate.

I will say it happens a lot when I'm healing because some Tanks are in Speedy Gonazales mode 24/7 and refuse to wait on stoneskin or aspected benefic.

Had one tank last night who was charging miles ahead and starting the boss before the DPS were even remotely near due to still dealing with the adds the tank decided to leave alone, one of the DPS managed to squeeze in with a second to spare.

As a BRD main, I very seldom get balances from the majority of the ASTs I run with unless they're expanded (PLEASE I UNDERSTAND EWER AND MP AND MORE FOE'S AND WHATEVER BUT SHARE THE LOVE D: !!!). I WOULD NEVER CLICK OFF HYDAELYN'S GIFT TO DPS.

That's probably because if we dare to stop running while the Healer buffs us, we get bitched at by DPS (sometimes the healer too) for not pulling fast enough. Tanks are damned if they wait for buffs or pull too fast.

Had an interesting trial roulette the other night. Went in and got thronmarch hm (like always...)
One of the tanks was a new sprout and just wanted to know if there was something specific he should do as OT. I was giving him the quick run of either tank the king or tank mogs when the preparation shield (or loading barrier -whatever you want to call that circle) vanished. So my co-healer and I started getting protect/ss going on the party when the non-sprout tank just ran forward and started the fight.

Okay, nothing I haven't seen before in my healing career before I'll at least get protect up during the fight no biggie - except one thing... actually two...

1) He didn't have tank stance on (sprout did though)

okay maybe he just forgot we can remind him

2) he ran to the NW corner and just stood there... literally stood there doing nothing looking at the pretty background.

A BRD and I were hollering at him to do something but no responses or movements.

The king appears and the sprout tank takes the king while all the moogles decent on my co-heal and I and and kill us both causing a wipe.

Im sure the BRD was like me trying to spam the kick option at this point but as soon as we spawn he did the same thing starting the fight and just going to the corner to stare into the distance. This time around my co-healer and I played hot potato with the tank mogs' aggro while the sprout handled the king and the dps the others and we somehow survived.

And as soon as the exit appeared the do-nothing tank was first to leave. Never felt so used and angry in my life ._.

I mean, I'm not going to complain if the tanks wait for Protect/Stoneskin/Adlo/Noct shields. I only complain when, after all the buffing is done, when the tank continues to just stand there/let's the buffs fall off. Or if they pause between every pull. And not for just a few seconds either, like a full minute. Had one of those in my roulettes this morning.

I tend to adopt a sharing is caring approach to enhanced or extended balance, so I'll put it on DPS #1 one for one fight and then switch to DPS #2

Oh yeah, I've got a run to talk about (long story again, because why not?). leveling roul on NIN at like, 2am, get Brayflox. Premade party of 3 sprouts. All new to the duty. Just started last week. @_@; I'll be completely honest, I bit of me died after the first pull, because that's when I realized they were all new. I wasn't exactly looking for a rough run at 2am lmao. But I was like, Ok screw it. If I don't put my big-girl pants on and teach them everything I can, they might never get anyone willing to do it later, and then they'll just suck forever. I knew the run was going to be rough, because it's one of the gateway ones where it forces you to learn teamwork. I'm not even pushy with advice, I let people make their mistakes (usually resulting in a wipe lol), and then explain why it needed to be done differently, since I find that's the easiest way for people to learn.

But these people were like, dead silent for the first 20 minutes of the run, and they weren't reading any of the advice on bosses or gameplay I posted in chat. "DRG, adds," "Healer dying, need to kill adds." "Kill little enemies first please." "tank, best if we keep mobs in corner or we get more than we bargained for," This was roughly the time I figured they were on discord together and weren't actually paying attention to the fact that yes, you have a 4th party member here.

We get to the big open room with all the mobs (a half hour later), and by this point I'm dead tired (trying to tank adds off healer, DPS everything in sight because everyone is severely under geared, plus type advice that apparently no one is reading was taking its toll), and just so frustrated trying to communicate and hopefully help the run go smoother. Finally I ask, "So are you guys bots? 'Cause I don't think I've ever had a more awkwardly silent run since I started playing." Silent for about 10 seconds.

Tank: "Oh sorry, we're on voice chat together. Haven't done this before."

Me: "Yeah... I guessed as much already lol. Hi, I'm here too. o/"

Shite went soooo much better after that. We still wiped a few times (once in the big room, 4 times on last boss), but they were paying attention and finally improving. DRG was going to fall in the trap of blaming tank for not pulling dragon out of poison puddles fast enough, but I had to explain that no, it's really a DPS fail now. Tank was doing pretty good by the second wipe, it was then up to us (DDs) to burn boss fast enough that tank poison stacks didn't get too high for healer to manage. I wish more people would explain this to new DDs at this point in the game so DDs realize how important their roles is. I noticed DRGs performance was much better after that. XD Like no Darling, you do not get a free pass from me. > I have nothing to say on the healer, because she was actually very good. Under geared so she didn't have much time for DPS between heal spam, but I still saw DoTs pop up, and she kept her cool when mobs were all over her.

But yeah, it's actually fairly hard to keep sprouts motivated when they're actually trying to do well, but they're still terrible at the game. XD Had to explain a few times that they were given baby steps before this dungeon. Often times the only reason first run of Brayflox goes well is if your other 3 members are experienced enough to compensate for your poor performance haha.

And they were so stoked when we finally beat it lmao, thanking me for the advice and for not abandoning them (which made me a little sad, how many people did they have before that just left with no explanation?). I dunno, I hate how stressful dungeon runs like this can be, but I love knowing I made a difference for someone, so it's a bit of a mixed bag for me lol.
