    I really like the trend they're setting with the hyper ifrit fight. I like the idea more of a really challenging instanced fight rather than the challenge being "Who DOESN'T have a life". The FFXI HNM/Kings system was meant for the guys who had all the time in the world to rot in front of their PCs, and made that content unattainable to people who actually had jobs, families, and friends.

    I'm not saying that everything should be casual and instanced, but please, for the love of all that is good and sane, do not give us insane drop rates and multiple DAY windows. Give us a challenging dungeon with crazy puzzles and a hard as nails fight at the end. Make us use our brains instead of our lives.

    1. Congrats on being able to cheat well enough to claim said mobs.
    2. Kings were anything but hard, so fighting them was lol, and you're a joke if you think the old XI system was good. Mindless hours waiting for a chance spawn of something with terrible drop rate patterns and contending with server lag and bots is garbage. Make HNM's instanced is the only way to remove cheating and advantages due to better ping.

    I want challenging fights, not challenging claims. However NM/HNMs which spawn every 2 or more days would be still nice, cause it gives a sense of "rarity" and "unpredictability", breaking monotony of schedule events (raids, etc).

    The having both normally isnt bad, I don't think anyone minds oh man its up here at this time if its really very random.

    Also everyone is under the impression the timed spawns were difficult even during COP era- they weren't unless it was like 3am and you had 6 people actually awake. If you want a challenge do things with less people~

    And here is an example of what I'm talking about in my post.

    If SE were to provide a way to get similar drops (ie. not superior or inferior to) via a different means - such as a hyper-mode instanced fight in addition to a means to get it by camping really rare spawns that might only pop once every 24-48 hours... then why would you care if people who have the time and prefer that method chose to do it that way?

    If they have all the time in the world to sit in front of their computer, and that's what they choose to do, then that's their business.

    And let's face it, some people are self-employed, are well off, still in school, or otherwise don't have to live the 9-5 Mon-Fri grind like others do. I've known people who were handicapped or limited to a wheelchair who had nothing but time 'cause they couldn't do anything else. I guess they should be deprived the chance to do something they might enjoy 'cause you don't like it?

    As long as you have a means to get the items you want by doing the content you enjoy doing, then there's absolutely no reason why people who enjoy going after that really rare spawn that only shows up every 1-2 days can't have their enjoyment as well.

    And by the way... I've known people personally who had jobs, families and friends who still managed to camp for those rare spawns and even succeeded in getting their drops. They didn't "sit in front of the computer for hours". They kept track of their ToD, or had friends who kept them informed and if they had the time/availability, they'd log in when its spawn window opened and camp for it.

    You don't have to be "camping there for hours or days" to get a chance at the spawn.. All you need to do is be there when it spawns and get the claim. That can be as little as 10 minutes if your timing is good.

    So, the idea that "people with jobs, families and friends" can't partake in that kind of content is complete rubbish. It's called "time management".

    Yeah Lets confine everything to instance so you can't talk or interact with anyone except you LS members. Now that's what i call Fun!

    Half the people who against HNM probably did camp once and like "omg we lost claim this is stupid" and the other half "bot this and both that and isucksoillblamebots", i had both PC and PS2, i usually get on my PS2 for claiming, with nothing but spamming provoke.

    HNM is fine as long as they make the respawn timer decent with no windows and large spawn area.

    I've said this in a lot of other threads on the subject now, but I don't see why people are so against their addition. Adding a few mobs with long timers and high stats is much, much less work than designing dungeons, and yet they will keep the people who are interested in them playing for a much longer time. The development team could crank out a bunch of them for one of our regular patches and you'd hardly notice the difference in other things added.

    I didn't like HNM camping in FFXI either. So I didn't do it. I had more than enough content between stuff in Tu'Lia, Dynamis, Limbus, Assault, Nyzul Isle, ZNMs.... "Ground kings" were a tiny part of FFXI since Promathia, and it's your own damned fault if you spent time doing things you didn't want to do in a video game.

    Let the people who do enjoy it have their fun, I say.

    Open world HNM's are needed. Whether you love or hate them, we need the content. You don't have to do it, but let there be options for people that do enjoy it. I personally love it and that's why I'm for it. I dislike instanced raiding being the main content but i think certain instanced stuff is needed. Just please don't limit the whole community to one certain type of end game, people like different things. We need variety!
