It'd be a real kick in the pants to those that bought the physical item, no?

That isn't how it works, the minion is tied to the merchandise, and shouldn't be available through alternate means.
I would like to see these pieces of merchandise be made available again though, with the same minions tied to these items (perhaps an eorzea collection that contains the old minions in a new merchandise package).

It's not how it currently works, it could be if they wanted it to however. If all someone wants is the digital item, why force the purchase of something that could just end up being landfill waste? I bought the encyclopedia eorzea and it came with a minion. If after that promotion expired, they offered the minion separately I couldn't care less. I'd feel pretty petty if I got upset because they made a digital in-game item available via alternatives means for those that wanted it.That isn't how it works, the minion is tied to the merchandise, and shouldn't be available through alternate means.

As weird as it sounds: there are enough people out there that are buying the merchandise because of the attached minions. If SE would make it a habit to add those minions to the MogStation later, they would lose out on those sales. It's not how it currently works, it could be if they wanted it to however. And even if I agree with you that it would be kinda pathetic to get upset about that later those minions are currently markted as "exclusive" and SE is actually making money with that. If they were to sell the minions seperatly later, they need to make that clear before or everyone whos buying the merchandise might be rightfully pissed about false advertistment...
And honestly: I'm not sure if I would have bought the soundtracks if it werent for the minions (even though I gave those to a friend who really cares about them) - while I like having real CDs I ofc copied them to my harddrive and am now listening to the music that way... or well, I would be if I werent using YouTube for that anyways. Without the minion I would have hestitate more to actually buy the soundtracks.

Well, I honestly wouldn't mind. I bought the physical item for the actual item..I'd rather see others be able to get these minions, they're really nice ^^ I was mostly just asking where SE/Yoshida said they would eventually sell them on the Mog Station, I saw many people online claim this but couldn't find where they said it.

Thats anecdotal evidence as to why it wouldn't be an issue though. Can you imagine buying the Odin statue for $200 and then the emote being immediately put on the mogstation.
Like I said, the only solution is through merchandise. These codes need to be more readily available, but through the merchandise, having a limited run with a code that expires causes problems like this. If you could go on the SE store and just buy the before meteor soundtrack for the minion regardless of when in the games life cycle you are at, then people would be a lot happier with it.
Oh, and if your argument (this is directed to anyone) is that minion collectors shouldn't have to buy merchandise, I will remind you that minions aren't supposed to be collected like that, and that if you really are a die hard collector then you will conform to SEs distribution of bonuses (because I am honestly sick and tired of minion collectors complaining and dictating reward distribution of content, ala ranked feast).

If I were willing to pay that much, it would be because I wanted the statue and not the emote that comes with it. Getting the emote that came with it was a perk. At the point that promotion ended you'd have to pay $200 for the statue still and then the price of the emote from the mogstation on top of that if you wanted both. If you only wanted the emote then you'd presumably pay much less and there's one less odin statue sitting in storage or buried in a landfill. I of course can only speak for myself in this situation.

Yes, I can.I have it and again I could not care less. ^^ Everything I buy from SE I buy for the item..again it really does not bother me at all.
In fact I gave my emote to my BF from the statue, I don't really care..heh. I just want my friends and others to be able to obtain these minions, because I get asked a LOT where I got them from...so figured it would be nice to see idk.
