I really hope jump potions are added soon. Inhave two friends who returned to the game recently. They hadnt played since the end of 2.0. They have well over a hundred quests to do to catch up. Ive noticed them logging in less and less. The MSQ grind is too long for some people. They just want to run dungeons and raids with us, they aren't in it for the story. They are burning out on the MSQ fetch quests =[
This here highlights the real issue, 2.1-2.55. patch story should be skippable for free, and a synopsis (which is easy to make for patch story) would summarise concisely the relevant plot details and cut out the fluff. I think this would be more beneficial to your friends who would be able to go immediately from 2.0 to 3.0, and then from 3.0 to 4.0 (though I'd rather 3.0 to 3.4 initially)I really hope jump potions are added soon. I disagree, do people really do no research of what they buying before or in this case even know what a final fantasy title is? Now if the potion was to be included with the $200 CE I wouldn't see a problem with that but if person wants to buy the ARR/HW (which on amazon for $20-30 depending on platform) and then only the standard edition for SB then there should be no free skip all button and have to buy the potion. This here highlights the real issue, 2.1-2.55. patch story should be skippable for free, and a synopsis (which is easy to make for patch story) would summarise concisely the relevant plot details and cut out the fluff. I don't get it, if you want it to go faster and don't care about the story just skip cutscenes and don't read quests
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
That's still a lot of time and energy wasted.
This is a FF title, but it's also an MMO. Story and the grind to max level are only fun for a portion of MMO players. Many just want the endgame, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Isn't that the same group of people that beat the "end game" content and then complain there is nothing to do? Then quit to maybe come back with the new patch and repeat. Cause we all know there not very much end game content least not that relevant end game content since coil and that earlier stuff if outdated and no one wants to do.
Maybe. But, that's well within their right to beat the new stuff, unsub, and repeat. Hell, remember when Yoshi-P actually suggested that? Someone around here has the quote in their sig.Isn't that the same group of people that beat the "end game" content and then complain there is nothing to do? That kind of the point, it is their choice to skip all that content. So they can either
or pay for the jump potion and not "I should be able to do it for free cause I don't want to do the content"
Eventually, the gap will be too large to not bundle a potion with the expac. We're probably not there yet, but one or two more expansions, and they'll have to bundle it like the older games eventually did.
