No one is 'taking away' anything because you never had it in the first place, and SpiritMuse was wrong in wording it that way, though I agree with his sentiment. Regardless of how you feel about female variants of gear, or if you dislike your female exclusive gear, apples to apples, females have more. It won't hurt to let males have a gear set to themselves. Sure, I'm for removing a few of gender locks as well, but I'm happy the Aymeric set is gender-locked (though as I said in a previous post, I wish the hair could be bought separately since it's unisex).

There honestly isn't all that much gender-locked gear that doesn't have a male counterpart anyway. Though some, imo should count as the same item, eg: no reason the Songbird/Seneschal sets are separate, as well the Far Eastern sets, etc.

I'll bite, why are you happy the Aymeric set is gender-locked? (Maybe to cut to the chase, if there were no female-only gender locked gear pieces, would you be happy that Aymeric's gear was locked to male characters?)

Full disclosure, I bought the Aymeric set despite not being able to use it, just for the hair. (Which is great, as I'm sure my forum avatar will be updated to reveal shortly, lol.) For that matter, I'm a big supporter of Square Enix and I buy basically everything in the Mog Station, even if I don't plan to use it. Which is to say, if they remove some of the remaining gender locks, S-E can have some more of my money.

I wonder that too. That'd be like saying "I'm happy dresses are genderlocked so men don't get to wear them".

It's not that I'm ecstatic that it's gender-locked, a better word would be content. I had no personal desire to see female Aymerics, though at the same time, I can see the other side of the coin. I knew there would be complaint threads about it, between here an Reddit, I knew there were going to be "Rejoice" threads. From my own personal perspective, I like that guys get this set. I'm not here to change opinions, but I feel that a certain level of exclusivity between in-game (let's not make this about IRL BS) avatars is nice from time to time. As I said, some items I'd like to be unlocked, the bunny ears being locked has always seemed dumb to me, and certain boots were unlocked a few patches back that made me happy for both genders, but this, I wanna leave with the boys.
