If people were wanting to wear some cool female outfit on a male character you wouldn't catch me going "It's ours, don't let them".
It's not about the specific outfit. It's about balance and fairness across the board. You as a female character already have tons of extra exclusive stuff, missing one would be no skin off your back. Male characters don't have as many exclusives so taking one away only increases the imbalance.

I don't actually mind if this & other character specific outfits stay gender locked...but I am still against gender locking gear.

I play a female character and I could not agree more. Not even only on the "Let the guys have this." but also because I don't wanna see a bunch of cat girl Aymerics, personally.

THAT SAID, I really DO wish the hair was available as a separate purchase. It's a unisex hair, and it's a nice one, I'd like to be able to buy it for like $5USD or so without having to buy an outfit that I can't even use for $15USD. I'm hoping they take notice and put it up separately at some point soon.

Am quite okay with this remaining male only - in fact I think more male exclusives should be released, female avatars have access to way many more things than males ones anyway, it's hardly fair.

And no, you don't have to have access to every single little thing in game, it's alright for there to be some exclusivity *eagerly awaits comments mentioning the special snowflake syndome*

If anything we need more genderlocked and more racial gear. We have so few!
Why? Why do we need racial gear? The entire cast is essentially human bodies, why not just allow each race to wear instead of limiting options cause one character has cat ears?

This is really a bad idea guys.

Funny, cause I don't feel that way. All these "exclusives" we get I don't even care for. I'm not interested in dressing my character like a playboy bunny, nor the fanservicey outfits. I'd rather have the butler outfit or the male Dragoon AF1 outfit that doesn't have the dumb bra and open stomach section. I actually dislike a lot of the female variants of clothing compared to the male variants cause the male variants tend to be designed better for combat.

What we actually need is for us to start criticizing them for their lack of doing this with all outfits. FFXI had it, and this isnt FFXIV 2.0 anymore so the community should criticize this again and remind them how bad tail clipping looks.

I find it troubling that to increase "fairness" you would take something away from others. By all means, fight to remove gender locks from gear, but asking to lock more gear just feels petty and spiteful. That's not what fairness is.
