Did you say this to everyone who wanted any crossover? He said it took over a year to do the last one due to the paperwork and logistics. Don't expect to many more collabs. Plus original content > collaborations
But I have an idea that is even better than a XIV+MH collaboration that will give you your MH fix! .

go play monster hunter.

I would. To date, SE has not pursued crossover events unless under very special circumstances (dragon quest and all the final fantasy ones as an example), all of the rest of the times are from other companies coming to SE about cross promotion (yokai and Garo). The only way we will get a MH collab or any collab for that matter (unless you are asking for a FF one) is if the external company requests it and SE thinks it would be a good deal.
I'm actually sick and tired of seeing collab requests on the forums because the answer is always the same. No matter the demand, SE won't pursue it.
I can understand this. I got tired of all the crossover threads too because at one point the main page had alot of them on it. I won't mind any crossovers but I tend to think on how the work in the FFXIV world which is why I didn't like Yokai. Garo doesn't have a story. I didn't like Yokai because it didn't make sense but I never spoke out on it. There are NieR threads too but those are harder to.. tie in to the game? That's what I was getting at here. Monster Hunter is probably the easier to bring in than FF game KH, DQ or any of those(If we are thinking lorewise and logicwise)
Although I don't say negative things about other people's crossover requests in their threads, some of the requests I've seen seemed pretty.. outlandish. For FFXIV(Like Yokai!)
The Garo promotion is likely the result of getting Keita Amemiya on board for the Return to Ivalice monster design not Keita coming to FFXIV.
The Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star Online 2 requests were not really outside the realm of possibility considering both Monster Hunter 4U (2014) and Phantasy Star Online 2 (2016) had crossovers with Final Fantasy. Phantasy Star's even directly ported assets from Final Fantasy XIV.The only way we will get a MH collab or any collab for that matter (unless you are asking for a FF one) is if the external company requests it and SE thinks it would be a good deal.
Don't be so certain. They could be working out the legalities of the 2018 crossover event right now.I'm actually sick and tired of seeing collab requests on the forums because the answer is always the same. No matter the demand, SE won't pursue it.

There it is! I knew all collabs had stories behind them, here they are:The Garo promotion is likely the result of getting Keita Amemiya on board for the Return to Ivalice monster design not Keita coming to FFXIV.
- Lightning returns: Organised when Yoshi P hung out with the XIII-3 director at E3 and they thought it would be a cool idea
- Original XI event: celebrating the 10th anniversary of XI (XIV's sister game) I believe
- Dragon Quest event: celebrating a Dragon Quest anniversary (a bit of background, Yoshi P has worked on multiple dragon quest games, being the director of the Dragon Quest Battle Road games, and the Planner Chief of Dragon Quest X - so he has a huge connection with the franchise)
- Second XI event: celebrating the release of XIs final expansion, and acting as a sendoff to XI and torch passing between the two games
- Yokai: The CEO of level 5 is a friend of Yoshi Ps, and they discussed the event in a casual environment, with Level 5 creating most of the assets.
- Garo: As you said, this is a result of Keita Amemiya working on return to Ivalice.
Any future events would involve Yoshi P having ready access to those who have the authority to permit a collaboration event, and he won't actively seek out these connections.
This would depend on who made the call. Monster Hunter is actually outside the realm of possibility right now, as it was not an XIV event, it was armor designed by Tetsuya Nomura. Yoshi P does not have any affiliation or ready contact with either Capcom, nor those from SE who collaborated on Monster Hunter, and he would need to seek out those connections in order to do a collaboration event. The Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star Online 2 requests were not really outside the realm of possibility considering both Monster Hunter 4U (2014) and Phantasy Star Online 2 (2016) had crossovers with Final Fantasy. Phantasy Star's even directly ported assets from Final Fantasy XIV.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is slightly more feasible, though I believe Yoshi P actively stated that they weren't pursuing it.
Possible, but doubtful, considering the above.

Yes.
Let FFXIV be FFXIV not MH, not VII, not XV, not Garo and not Power Rangers.
It's cheap and it takes away from the devs time creating something more interesting and original.
If you like any of the above so much go play that game, watch that show, etc.
