    It's going to be dead anyway, it's already dead because it's outdated, and it's going to be even more dead when Stormblood releases and the cap goes up. I'd understand the concern if those modes were active but with the way they have PvP set up as well as the size of our community it's just not happening.

    You're not wrong, but anyone still playing ARR-only and hoping to get into FL is going to be waiting for 20+ hours per queue, which isn't really practical unless they want people to die of boredom or unsubscribe. They need to put those people out of their misery and upgrade the old FL maps to keep them relevant, and do the same in SB. If it means some people can't play FL for a while, it's a shame but better than the current situation. Unlike with PVE, it's not even reasonable to try to raise interest in PF - the rewards suck for the level 50 games and you need a whole ton of likeminded people to get them to pop. And in PVE you can do old content unsynced, whereas if you don't like level 50 sync you will never, ever see the old Borderland Ruins maps at all.

Imo, they should make pvp available as early as possible. Lets say: You either have to level to max, or go through a tutorial similar to the novice hall -or something a bit more sophisticated- to get used to max lvl and pvp with your job. This way, even if you never bought HW (or any other expansion), you'd still be able to play the latest FL, at highest lvl cap. Ranked pvp should still require max level.

    As for the argument that this would lower the average skill level in PvP for this game... ...Yeah, I don't think it can get lower.

    But I don't see this happening. Just putting it out there. I think SE will keep their policies on FL pvp, meaning Sieze and Shatter will remain 60; Slaughter and Secure will remain 50.
