Harassing Healers - or: Please allow Parsers

Like with most things in this game, the dev team will add an in-game PRSR if there's enough outcry~!

I am not afraid to dps (even in savage content, feel free to check the go to statistics site if you need to for pre 3.55b standard comp numbers) but I do agree, if the healer isnt comfortable dpsing, then complaining and trying to force them to as the DPS roll out numbers that I would be embarrassed of on a freshly minted 60 dps job I have no clue how to play is kind of silly. So many bad DPS in this game that want to deflect their poor play as someone elses fault its just sad. I will leave this with something that YoshiP has stated. Healer DPS is never taken into account when designing content. So if there is ANY issue clearing content due to dps then your DPS are doing less than 80% of the minimum iLv. expectations for the content you are doing (and lets face it most of us are well above that now). Yes a healer DPS helps it go slightly faster but how many times have I seen wipes to the Dark Queen in Dun Scaith due to poor DPS even with healers contributing.

Also for those who end up getting me in Dun Scaith or random other things like trial roulette and see me only healing (dear god NO WHY), sometimes I like to play on DDR Dance Pads (I only get 20 buttons and like 5 are taken by movement and 6 by menuing so buttons come at a premium) or by voice control for fun because why the hell not, it is a game I have fun with. Not everyone derives enjoyment from seeing them "big d dps" numbers fly up the screen or rush to the end, some of us just play to play and if the majority of the party disagrees with that then find another group that doesnt and this applies to both sides of the argument.

As far as parsers go, it is a dont ask dont tell. I am free to say "your dps isnt up to standards" then initiate a vote kick if your dps is garbage. No mention of a parser means nothing to report and a GM wont ban off of circumstantial evidence you basically have to say I am parsing or post it in chat and if you do that then that is your own fault for what happens.

Nice you publicly admit you vote kick abuse with your friend. In case they consider that post a violation I am editing it out in mine.

Asking someone to AoE more DPS is in full within my right and not "a stupid comment" when someone is not giving out AoE damage to down 10+ monsters. As said before, if you lack AoE damage, you have no reason to megapull, you are just stressing your healer and SLOWING the run down at that point (if your lack aoe damage, smaller pulls are quicker to finish the DF since it is easier on the healer to DPS)

She tried to read guides, and watch video but they don't work for her. They are too long drawn how, and she zones out. (she has ADHD and ASD) she is best with short replies as she is doing something. Like in ff11 when she did dynamis the first time, she said the group said "since your job is rdm you do refresh on blm, and help nuke down the statues as they are immune to melee damage. Also if you can help heal the pullers and tanks" She told me that is what she did.

The only issue with her vids I possibly see is going too fast and going one thing to the next. Just pause it and rewind it to take in what is being said.

Also my post was simply explaining why someone may or may not raise people, your post never makes reference to it.

ok... edit we just saw the video.... ya she tried watching mtqcapture that was 1 of the yt'ers i was talking about of watching and not having anything stick well.

mtqcapture, mrhappy, work to game, therimyll (sp), mithrie. We can try again, but she learns best by doing/ and communicating. Not watching a guide/reading a guide and then playing. And she can't play and watch a guide at the same time (part of her ASD/ADD).

(trying to be nice, and thankful while trying to type how my g/f mind works when it comes to learning as she is explaining it.) tbh it be easier if people in the content would just do "a tank do x" "b tank do y" "c tank do z" try to better organize 24 main raiding as a whole.

set up a "this is how we should to 24 man raids" and the comunity follow it. (if jp can do it so can we)

yes I did, and this was the main focal point:

She was in group A who ran every which way, and it was very chaotic. At some parts they just didn't raise her :/

You did not reply to me at all with my long comments explaining why that may happen and that you may need to tell her not to get upset over not getting raise right away.

So I am going to start off right now, most people you find in the DF are bad, like 20% need carrying, get carried, 10% are just trolls, 50% are mediocre/passable 10% go a bit above the rest and start to stand out, and then the last 10% are flat out godly. A few runs ago in expert I met a godly war omg the run went so fast.

With that said it is unlikely people are not raising her to grief, as I explained in that post why, I never met someone I needed to keep dead (more valuable to the team dead then alive due to being too much of a MP sink) and my friend only seen it once and it was a blm when niddy was new. Most of the time your gf is not getting raise is due to they simply can't like mp issues or needing to heal at the time. Keep in mind other people can be new as well, even having full 270 gear and a 275 relic, people can still be not experienced enough to know when to raise people. I had such a person as my co heal in a dun run before (the raid after city) and it was such a headache too. That was my main point and you did not comment on that at all. It was a message for her, not you.

Sorry i didn't convey what I meant well. I felt her group was griefing her, she did not. She was upset at her mistakes, I was upset at the group. I hope that clarifies what i was saying about it.

it did look like griefing to me because both healers were not busy, it was more then the "not rezzing" it was lack of communication. Her group was silent, and raid was silent. No one threw her a bone, all the communication was just her apologizing for mistakes, and getting silence back.

She was upset at her mistakes, not over the group.

I didn't know it's harassment to ask people to please do something instead of standing around idle for 10+ seconds.

If I "did" do that as DPS regularly, though, I'd imagine I would receive harassment for it. Actual one at that.

When it comes to healers dpsing topic on this forums. There is rarely any asking, it's just DPS or go straight to insulting. Or bring up a story about the worst possible example of a person and label every healer that doesn't DPS as such. But then after that, it's claims of trying to make the person a better player. That is a terrible way to make someone better. You don't make them feel terrible, and labeling them as a horrible person and then tell them you're trying to help.

Look it all depends, if the Tank is being a sponge and always falling to a dangerous portion of health or not holding agro and the damage is so spread that is it just stupid then no...I am not going to DPS and heal >.> you want me to DPS? Throw a defense buff and use your HP absorbing skills so I don't have to worry about your ass, if other jobs allow me to DPS and heal then I will but I am not going out of my way like some keyboard warrior trying to heal a spongy party AND deal damage if the other party members are not going to show me some courtesy and try to avoid damage. That is my opinion on the matter, I will DPS if there is a window and I am able to without fear of anyone dying...plain and simple XD I have seen a tank literally pull half of the dungeon, not use a single cooldown...all of the DPS seem to like running into the markers and yet they grumble when I am not DPSing lol
