Im so sick of people saying Bla bla bla go play XI to get all the fun cool stuff bla bla bla. I played XI for 7 Years, Im all burnt out from XI. i don't want to go back just to get that awesome Purple Suit of Armour with my Bad ass Dragon. those should be here and now in XIV the NEW game

However, they did in a recent interview state that certain Dragoon quests would tie into Ishgard in the future, so the lore is being kept in-tact from the sounds of it.

Yes, there is the possibility of a PLAYABLE dragon and demi-human race coming.

To all those who say "Ishgard hates dragons bla bla bla" In XI there was also a group of dragonslayers that kept the number of dragons extremely low and there were very few who actually formed pacts with the wyverns to increase their overall abilities.

Ceraulian : I heard that to become a dragoon, you had to make a pact with a living wyvern. However, thanks to the dragonslayers, there aren't that many dragons left.

Oddly enough even with this lore in place of dragoons being extinct and never able to increase their ranks the story unlocked where the player actually tapped into the acnient dragoon ways to become one themself.

tl;dr its completely possible for Dragoons to have a pet dragon, Yoshi-P said that there will be refference to the legendary dragoon of Ishgard not us going to Ishgard and becoming dragoons. Also the rumored dragon race, will they be hunted by Ishgard aswell?

The lore does not need to be re-written to add a pet for dragoon just needs to be written in with refference to the already in-place lore with even more lore to fill in the gaps.

According to the info released they will not have dragon pets. Dragoon will be like Kain from FFIV. I find it very disappointing, but it's entirely possible that they will add a dragon pet one day.

i loved my wyvern and the job as a dragoon.. i think its boring to only have a pole weapon and thats it...ouuh well i forgot about the "dump" useless jump attacks. well then.. i stick to play a lancer.. i loved that the dragoon in FFXI was a hybrid petclass. and i dont care if it's traditional for a dragoon not to have a wyvern .....


with the upcoming job system we still dont have a petclass thats VERY disappointing and boring.. i dont like to have just standard classes. -.-

Dragoon's/Lancer has never had pet drake in any other game except for FFXI. Even in FFXI I cannot figure out why the heck they added one it didn't make much sense. I wouldn't count on ever seeing a Dragoon with a pet drake ever again.

Aha and why? i really LOVED it, especially cause i'm really into petclasses... although many people thought petclasses are not useful (puppetmaster etc.)... I LOVE them.. because there is a LOT more variety in battle .

Its a matter of taste ... for me its not enough to swing a polearm and thats it.. i love hybrid and petclasses... thats what it makes interesting for me.

i totally dont care at all if dragoon has got a wyvern pet traditionally or not... or if it was used to be to ride dragons as a dragoon...

i want the class to be like it was the most fun way to play it... and in my opinion the dragoon was very funny with a wyvern pet. and i cont care at that point if its "not traditional" ok?

for me lancer is almost like a "Dragoon without wyvern pet"... just the jump attack is missing wohoo..
the main classes in FF14 arent traditional either... they are just rip offs from the traditional jobs from the FF series. so in my opinion a "dragoon" job is not really a step forward for a lancer... he is almost like a dragon yet.


and this is really boring.. still not a petclass ingame.. i gonna die. seriously. boring standard classes.
