The end of Playstation 3 support.

Console support is the reason you even still have a game today. The cheering for people being unable to play the gane anymore is just plain rude

This isn't a martyr of history. It's a PS3 system, there's no need to have a group hug and withhold excitement for the furthering of the game. Does it suck that naturally some players won't be able to join us in our game in the future? Yes, but the team had to cut away the weakest link at some point.
Plus it didn't even come as a surprise, it's not news and it's not unexpected. They're giving people a large amount of time + upgrades to accommodate. People should get to celebrate.

Call me Thomas then, because I seriously doubt any significant gains are going to come of this. Maybe a few more bells and whistles in the hud and the inventory boost and that's it.

I was in the cheering crowd when they announced this in Las Vegas.

Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful to the people that supported this game. But to say this is long overdue is an understatement. Ps3s are over 10 years old. Ps4s have been out for years now. Old technology being replaced is hardly a new concept, and people have had more than enough time to upgrade.

Honestly... this was a long time coming and has been needed. With the same expansion that PS3 support is being dropped we are getting increased storage and increased housing items so there is something. We are also all forgetting that the minimum specs for the PC version is being jumped up quite a bit as well, so all those toasters you are talking about won't be able to play either. It will require GTX 700 series at a minimum, so anyone running less than that is out. As a comparison Overwatch requires only a 400 series.

It did demanded a lot, that is why they held the PS3 version of the game until they could fix the current problems they had at the time, it wasn't they were not releasing it for the PS3 they were just fixing the problems they have at that moment before they started working on the console version.

And it is mean spirited, coz the OP is practically rubbing it onto their faces that they can't play anymore, I'm not condoning PS3 players for not upgrading, but making a thread showing just how happy that their gone is just mean.

Also I'm not arguing that PS3 should stay or not, coz I don't have a say in the matter, its going to happen whether I like it or not, what I'm not condoning is the apparent lack of sympathy that people such as your self have that were probably losing some players in our community, and its quite disturbing

When they announced the discontinuation of Ps3 at some live event the room erupted in cheers. it is not mean spirited to be happy about a game you like to play being held back so much.

NO ONE ! is happy less people get to play because they are stuck on ps3 for whatever reason, there is no mean spirit. People are just happy to see bye bye to ps3 limitations but it is quite clear there be ps4 limitations soon enough.

It has nothing to do with not having sympathy, do not insult me. Do you see people complaining that they can't play their floop games in todays computers? Or how ffxiv can't run on computers from the 1980s? it is the same thing, tech moves on, anyone thinking the ps3 or ps4 will last forever delusional.

I played PS3 for like a year and I can confirm it's as terrible as people make it out to be.

The game chugged doing pretty much anything. Low frame rates all around.

Load screens were long. 30s was the norm for even dungeons.

It could only display a few player characters on screen simultaneously. (Like 12 outside the 24 man raids) Making even highly populated areas feel barren.


I cannot even imagine how PS3 runs Heavensward content. It could barely handle ARR content.

I very much agree ;_; i lasted till 2.3 got all upgrades through hunts using drgs ring of thorns hoping to hit the thing then ps3 broke and had to save up for new one
to have that one seem so slow that i just saved up for months to get a ps4

PC player detected. What's next... ps4 is at fault for clipping? While the ps3 version really is terrible there are some players that still stuck with it to experience a game they love. Why even fault them?

look at the bold and open your eyes, I'm not assuming anything that isn't obvious. And like I said I'm not arguing the upgrade of the game, I'm pointing out that making a thread that is meant to hurt other people who can't is in poor taste.
