This. I've also yet to actually be in a group that actually CLEARED the fight itself. We either always wipe until it fails or literally half the players leave the moment their main objectives are done. Why is this thread still going on lol. It's not like the weapon drops FOR SURE. And even then it has to drop from a selection of classes and then you still have to win the roll. It's not the end of the world. Highly doubt Yoshi-P would do something like this to rustle people's jimmies. Stop getting so worked up over something so trivial.
I dont get all the fuss about these 280 weapons. I mean hypothetically all content currently out could be done without it so why would you need it unless you are a completionist. Why does the introduction of this throw things off balance for you. Its not like we have been seeing posts of people getting kicked from groups because they dont have a 280 weapon.
Because the gearaholic crowd has to have it to be happy. It's not a game breaker for sure and it doesn't invalidate the work of those who have 275's.I dont get all the fuss about these 280 weapons. It does if the only reason you wasted all the time, gil and effort was to have a BiS weapon from completion until SB. A reasonable expectation given the relic was BiS from completion until HW and nothing was said that suggested the anima would be different. Just nine days of BiS and then *yoink*, "Sorry, our new Diadem is trash and we needed something to bait people in."
Gear is and always has been a driving force for a lot of people in MMO's. Maybe for you it is not as important but you need to understand that a lot of different people play this game. It's the same when some people don't understand all the fuss about glamour gear and emotes or gardening because they think stuff like that is pointless. People aren't just upset over the fact that the gear they have worked hard for to achieve is now being outshined by 280 weapons. It's also just an unfair system to begin with because it is exclusively based on RNG. Some people will be doing this content forever without getting anything out of it while others hop in once and get a weapon right away.
It's a problem that has been present for a long time with other content as well, such as farming Primals for mounts. The fact that they have a system in place to counter this unfairness (totem trade for example), yet decide to hold it back speaks volumes.
It's just really bad game design that screws over the majority of players while only rewarding a lucky few. I would not care so much if they had put in a trade system already. Like, let's say beat the EM 100 times, get a weapon by default.
At least that way I'd see some sort of progress. I'd work towards a goal and force myself to do this even though I absolutely despise Diadem 2.0
BiS is a preference not a need. Many people clear the content without ever getting full BiS gear. Does it help. Sure. Is it a necessity not really. As for the Diadem situation I am all for giving players incentive for doing content. What would be the point of it without incentive. It does if the only reason you wasted all the time, gil and effort was to have a BiS weapon from completion until SB. No I don't buy it. Your need to justify your relic chase gets pretty old. I have 7 (seven) 275 relics and working on my 8th doing light. I didn't do mine expecting them to be BIZ let alone until expansion. I don't see it as a big issue personally. Get over it.It does if the only reason you wasted all the time, gil and effort was to have a BiS weapon from completion until SB. Yes, but the point is, the only reason I wasted all that time, gil and effort was to have BiS from completion. If I knew this would happen, I would never have started and just used the EX and/or Shire weapons that could have cleared all the content perfectly well. As such, the i280s rendered everything invested into the anima as wasted. And just nine days after completion. That is why I, and others, are upset.BiS is a preference not a need. You completed your animas for your reasons, I completed mine for a different one. Your failure to accept that people may have completed their animas for different reasons shows you to be very narrow-minded. Accept that people have different motivations and get over it.
