What a ridiculous reason to quit FFXIV.
Since getting the weapon is like playing the lottery, the chances of getting that weapon is slim to none. Why stress over it where you can just get your Anima or other weapon that is close to that ilvl; it may be just a few points off so what? You used that weapon to clear end game content before the 'new' Diadem ever came.

Get what? quitting because you can't get a 280 weapon that's a random drop with random stats. In a sense which you can get right now the anima weapon is better because you know what the stats will be. Your choice I understand that and if that's what you want all the best to you.

Basically the winning the jackpot weapons have come at a time when progression is done and it really has no impact on the game. The math says its about a 1 in 1000 chance that you get one so not many people will even have one. They probably would never do this type of thing but at the end of an expansion.

I understand why she is upset, I was upset over it too. But its not nearly that bad of a scenario to make me quit, especially when we knew that eventually, our weapons would have been outgeared anyway. If this is enough to make you quit, then you should quit.

That's nice and all, but for some jobs the weapon could have only half the substats than the Anima and still be vastly superior. So that doesn't even matter.

That's kinda flawed logic. Because assuming the patch cycles stay the same. The best weapons won't be in storm blood either there'll be in 4.2.

Well that would be ridiculous if they didn't add a better weapon or weapon upgrade in the expansion then what you can currently get. Maybe not in the initial 4.0 release but I'd say at least soon after.

While I certainly find the OP overreacting, Yoshi's comments about the Anima being better is demonstrably false and... a little disconcerting. They already break the ilvl (280 yet have stats equivalent to 290). Now he's apparently claiming the Anima is still better. Either it was worded poorly or... he's clueless on stat allocations.
