At least Kota gave a suggestion related to competition
And you just want the competition rewards through grind
Arthur Jin

Pvp != competitive Pvp
Play soccer in the backyard for ten years can't make you the same reward as champion of World Cup
But if next champion is asking for previous rewards, at least that sounds reasonable
Arthur Jin
Not if the rewards are exclusive. That's the issue everyone has. Exclusivity

If you weren't top 100 in a particular season or any season you don't deserve top 100 rewards. That isn't to say that the rest of the players shouldn't get a better reward for participating in the Feast because I do believe SE should give a better incentive to play for people outside of top 100.
And it isn't everyone, only people like you that want to be rewarded with the same items for not playing as well as people in the top 100.

Some people forget that this is a game.
It's meant to have fun. To challenge yourself, yes, but at the end of the day - have fun.
Competitive PVP would be a lot more fun AND involving to the player base if:
- A few glaringly nasty salty, bitter apples were warned and then (if they kept up their behavior) removed without this blanket-wide ban on chat affecting everyone
- Classes were actually balanced and each job had something meaningful to contribute to the outcome of the match. Imagine for a moment if a ninja had a one-time ability to steal another team's buff. That would change the whole strategy of the game and the team could work together to figure out the best way to do it while the other team has to strategize to protect themselves. Most matches I've been in can be boiled down to "everyone attack the healer".
- People could get rewards account-wide so they wouldn't have to clog up the leaderboards with their 100 alts across every data center
- There were NO SUCH THINGS AS PROMOTION QUALIFIERS because I hate those with every fiber of my soul. Shouldn't the fact that I scored the requisite number of points be enough of a qualifier?!
- Rewards were accessible. Not seasonally exclusive, but challenging enough to get so that you put in enough time/effort to earn them. I wouldn't have any issue clawing my way up leaderboards if I knew that a reward of my choice could be there at the end.

People who say mean things get warned and suspended and/or banned extremely quickly though. People just need to actually report. Responding to harassment reports is one of the few reports that GMs actually follow up on. Someone got banned live on stream not long after a game ended because he insulted one player once (and he said nothing else the entire game).
Which is exactly what makes this chat ban so confusing. Are these people who are encountering rude players not reporting them at all?

That's good to know. I report the nastiest of players but I never know if anything is done to them. Obviously GMs can't say although it does seem like they take reports seriously, which is good.
My only guess is that GMs got overwhelmed by reports from PVP and wanted the GARO folks to have a safe place to play and try out PVP for their first times (which is true for many players), hence the chat ban.

I think we will know more after the feast season 4 finishes as well as when stormblood comes out how pvp will change and what will happen to previous rewards as well as if new lv70 pvp modes come out.
