So my chance is 1 in 72??? I like the odds of that! Much better than 1 in thousands or ten thousands even million of winning the jackpot. See the point? It isn't hard to get one lol rip Scripture weapon 270 which isn't even put in Dun Scaith yet? Don't even bother SE!

It's 102 days until the expansion is released. Assuming exactly one weapon drops for 72 people and assuming you manage to successfully complete the emergency mission once per day every day and don't care which weapon drops (even if it's for a job that isn't 60 yet), then your chance of obtaining at least one weapon before Stormblood is

1 - (1 - (1/72))^102
= 1 - (1 - 0.0138888889)^102
= 1 - 0.9861111111^102
= 1 - 0.2401247539
= 0.7598752461
= 76%

where 102 is the number of successful kills and 1/72 is the drop chance. 1/(72 x 13) = 1/936 would be the drop chance for a specific weapon.

For example, if you run Diadem with 3 friends each day until you beat the emergency mission (which could take multiple runs) then statistically one of you wouldn't get any weapon and 3 of you would get some weapon before Stormblood. The chance of obtaining a specific weapon is much lower (substitute 1/72 with 1/936 in the formula) and would require several hundreds of kills for a similar chance, meaning more than one kill per day every day. If you skip days and only complete the emergency mission every other day (substitute 102 with 51 in the formula), for example, then your total chance of getting at least one weapon of any kind before Stormblood is 51%. If you like these odds I wish you good luck with your farm. ^^

Personally I'm going to stick with doing my relics because I don't like it when there's a chance that my work is wasted. I've only seen the emergency mission 2 or 3 times and haven't been able to complete it. It's going to take some time before the general population figures out what to do there.

Thanks for posting BRD weapon. It's "only" +1 WD..... so i'll go on to finish relic and compared to 275 it's not THAT much of a difference.
Caster +3 WD is still hilarious tho

Some games like to reward skill, like navigating a temple for treasure. Some reward effort, like a methodical search for buried treasure. Then you have FF XIV, which takes the best weapons, loads them into T-Shirt launchers and fires them into the crowd yelling "Who wants 280s?!?" >.<
