Path of the Sword Choice [SAM or RDM]

For me I have been moving more towards Samurai as I do favor more speed sword style combat.

Having been at fanfest I recall them saying Sam was going to be the hard hitting melee not speedy, monk and ninja already have that covered.

From what I've seen Red mage look like the speedier of the two styles with its chain spells and dashes.

Personally I play monk atm (I'm not a massive fan of drg) so I'll level both monk and Sam to 70 and play which ever is most viable in raids for my static.

Yes by Fanfest the SAM is a heavy Damage type but I am refering to what the SAM attack theme is and not the mechanic of the battle style which we know so far involves building some kind of energy or buff to spend it on a special High Damage attack (kind of sound like a DPS version of Warrior). Animation wise from what we seen so far those heavy attacks animation are the basic Speed Sword type attacks being Quick Draw Sword skills which generally relate to Speed Sword type Jobs focusing on high damage and high attack speed with low defense/HP over High damage and slow attack with high defense/HP.
