OP, don't be fooled, not all mentors wear crowns! Take your time and play the game. There are lots of rude players in the community, just ignore them, but there are also lots of nice ones too. So you are purposefully segregating yourself off and not wanting to ask for any information from anyone. Yet you expect to be given information for everything. Damn my 15 year old son plays it 4 hours a week, yet manages to check guides and ask people for help and advice.

If you find the community so bad then why don't you lead by example and invite new people into your FC. This way you can teach new players to not act in the way you disagree with. A community is about give and take not just take all the time.

Also i have everything max an am a 2 star hw crafter I'm trying to update my gear to carbon weave and wasn't hqing things. I got it fixed that's to the post i did.

I wasn't asking for craft help from you either, just saying I don't have the time to read a guide, and play the game.

On guides I have my own reserve, because a good number of them are made by people geared 100 times better than the duty they show, and almost ignoring/facerolling the mechanics, surviving all the things that kills you if you do the duty same way they do, but not as geared as them.

Another thing against guides, is them takes away the challenge of figuring yourself the mechanics. Debate about this is another topic but just wanted keep it present.

another issue I see, is too much people thinking that if you are 60 then automatically you also are i275. It is not.

no. you can play this game for 30 min to get something done, sifting through links and guides to find accurate info can take an hr. You don't know how much i work or how often, so saying I am able to do something I can't is assuming.

This time the run went ok and then when we reach the first boss I said 'I am new to this dungeon... any tactics for this boss?' but nobody said anything including the mentor dragoon. I pulled the boss and sadly we wiped and then I got vote kicked again.

How is it possible to wipe if your healer ain't AFK? Even if you fail on the portals, you won't die due to it.

As a tank there is nothing else to do besides dodging the usual suspects and maintaining threat. That's why no one bothered to explain, because there is nothing to explain.

As for the first kick: I understand you being a first time and wanting to take it a little slower. Personally I wouldn't kick you for it.

Keep in mind though: As a tank (granted, it takes a bit of experience) you have to assess what your group is capable of.
It's your job not to pull more than you know you can handle.
It is also your job to pull as much as the group can handle.
No one wants strategic and slow approaches on mob groups / bosses that don't warrant it.

Good guides are done when the content is new and are usually done with gear available at the time, think MTQ capture. Yes those guides become outdated eventually (insert skip soar meme here) but they do cover all the skills, then is on you to use your brain to adapt to your group damage and stuff.

You have to watch a guide ONCE, are you telling me that you can't sacrifice that time once in a bluemoon to make everyone else around you less miserable?
On the subject of assuming: you probably go to the toilet to take a dump once a day, and you probably have a phone, instead of watching a top 10 cutest kitties video watch a guide.
