Haven't visited this thread in a while, (mainly due to having to read Zenaku every 2nd post) but if bottom right is a packet monitor then ill eat my iPhone.

So they are redesigning the UI then adding squares to switch gear... oh and like 100 squares at at that. Seems a bit illogical.

While I'm not defending or striking down the notion just yet, there are 7 grids, each one with an assortments of dots that number exactly 25 (except for the one on the lower left). Each one of these grids could be an equip set for one job.

I noticed that too.. 7 grids, 5x5 (25 squares), but what would be the point of making an equipment thing like this? What would be the point of the different colors? Why wouldn't it just be on the equipment menu "Set 1" "Set 2" etc..

Are there 25 slots for equipment? EDIT: Nope, I just counted and there is only 22.


I was thinking that there could be one for each party member... 7 grids for 7 party members, but that doesn't really make sense either.... seeing as the bottom left grid has more dots than the rest.

How does it not look fantasy? you have the Chocobo fighting along side a Paladin and mages against a great evil fantastic monster called a Chimera.... How??? Oh and the fact the Sword looks like it is Icebrand or something with magical power on it? and the ghost and the Imp in it? ya those are not fantasy and only Western realism lore... Got ya no fantasy here folks move along...

Like it's been stated, just because a game is set in a fantasy setting does NOT mean you cannot be realistic about it. But people will just forget about this little inconvenient truth and go back to demanding that fantasy only uses cartoonish graphics (which the original screenshot is NOT).
