They DID say that we would experience the fight from fanfest, and from what it shows, this is not taking place at Azis Lla, nor is this an improvement over what they did for trials before. This is shoehorning the guy into a raid that doesn't make sense.
I can understand the dissapointment, given that many other trial battles have been tweaked or improved upon in standard play. This is a demotion for Pultima, reducing him to a trash mob.

Wait, so did they effectively just split dun scaith???
I mean if I don't want to unlock it, I can't go into it with people that have??
You can go. It just replaces the succubus add. If you don't pick up the quest in Idyllshire, you just won't get the token to exchange for 270 accessories.
Wait, no. They did what. They just added this in to Dun Scaith. Tell me this is a lie.
Am I being trolled by this thread?
Nope. Proto Ultima got put in Dun Scaith. Simple no trolling.
I'm at work and the main page really didn't update to anything so let me just get this cleared up. I unlock the question, I run Dun Scaith and instead of the Succubus I get Proto-Ultima that lets me get a token to exchange for an iLV270 accessory once a week?
Yes.

They never said it was a trial to begin with.
What they did say was that it wouldn't be like Odin (a standalone trial/instance) but would be added in a different way. With that said, having it reduced to a direct trash boss replacement is a shame, since the issue with Odin was that the reward was essentially glamour (when people were hoping for i130 drops at the time), not that it was a separate instance.
