It's so nice to see how people are now spitting on the CS when a while back it was just "oh stop it, it's just recolors and and past event items, it's never gonna be exclusive things !"

People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
I think it's quite cute how the straw that broke the camel's back is an emote.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
Does anyone remember the outrage that happened when they started all this when they made their first shop exclusive with Sleipnir mount? Lots of complaints while poeple said it was fine, just 'optional'. We warned this would happen. Accepting their very first item would only lead to more and more exclusive items for cash shop which is dumb in a sub game. For everyone saying you're not forced to buy buy these optionals items, do you realize a lot of people play to collect these and marketing takes adventage of this? I believe it has become an internet meme by now comparing how old games vs new ones are, but it's true. This is the lazy way of implementing items instead of making them rewards for actual content. Imagine going to a restaurant, which you're going on your own without anyone pointing a gun at you, then you saw this fancy ad about food you really like and they offer such food so you decide to go there. The restaurant has entrance fee and once inside you can eat whatever, but then when you're eating that dish that goes with some sauce, they tell you to pay extra for that sauce but it's fine because it's optional, right?
It does more than just cover expenses.
No we don't.
It's plenty when multiplied by a quarter of a million.
Well.. the developers have only said it will never have p2w items. They never promised anything else.
Lol there are restaurants like that. Pay for a buffet and you get to have all the salad, pizza, soup, chicken wings and fizzy juice you want. Ice cream, coffee and pie costs extra. You get to leave with a full stomach in any case but you have to pay extra for some flavors. There are also a lot of buffets where you eat anything but you pay for drinks that aren't water.

Yeah, but, they're planning to sell experience points for money soon. I consider that p2w, you might not and that's fair enough but hopefully we can all agree we're rapidly leaving a small shop with only minor cosmetic stuff in it way behind.

Do they add hose prices for extra stuff once you're inside after you paid though or were they already advertised? :]Lol there are restaurants like that. I don't have a problem with selling emotes, but I think the value proposition is skewed a bit. $7 per emote per character is already kinda jank, and in one case you're selling an animation that already exists in the game to begin with. It's kind of like asking people to pay $5 or whatever the cost is for really bad event wallpapers. People won't pay that much for a mobile game if it looks crummy, but for some reason the value gets shifted around here.
Ultimately you're asking for around half or over half of someone's monthly subscription fee here, yeah, it's "optional" and "glamour" and "doesn't affect anything" but I can't help but feel as a player that for $7 I'm not getting my money's worth (even though that's the price of a lunch or something), and I say this as someone who buys Hearthstone packs which makes it feel even more bizarre. You'd probably get a few more people begrudgingly buying if it was account-wide at least.
I'd like to see emotes and other fun one-off things appear in game first before being shoveled off to the MogStation for sale personally. These could have been veteran rewards, or a fun side quest where you teach people to play dead in case of bear attacks, or whatever else.
