If they let people on high pop servers take their gil with them when they transfer, I think the 'move to get a house' thing is a great idea. As it stands you currently have to pay a 'cover charge' to GET onto Balmung in the first place. The ratio of how much gil is worth on Balmung is insane compared to other servers. People on cross server discords constantly laugh at Balmung folks who think 60mil is a lot of gil. When if they were to move to Balmung they'd be lucky if they could turn their 120mil into 60mil with the items to buy and resell before moving.

I hate to agree but I think they should be giving larger servers more wards. It's just logical. More people = More resources. I don't think low pop servers would even feel left out since most of them have loads of open plots still anyways.

This. The amount of wards per server should be dynamic. And selling on Balmung makes me suicidal. It's near impossible to sell anything for a decent amount of gil on this server, the undercutters are insane. My stupid flannel suspenders got undercut by 100k.

I'm so glad that the person living next door to my FC house has had a completely empty house for 5 months AND has another empty house in Mist on an alt. They only log on to reset the demo timer. Ridiculous.

this last ward increase I was able to get a house. I have plot 27 in lav beds and someone bought the small accross from me. At first I was excited to have a neighbor, but then I found out soon that they only had it to rebut it. It sat empty for some time. They must have managed to sell the house, because now there are new people living there, but even with a pretty yard they don't come around often AND have other houses. (People bought it with a private fc). I'm always outside in my garden, and it makes me sad to never see my neighbors, even after I give them a warm welcome to the neighborhood.

This is what I mean and right now thats legal... but there isn't enough housing and they haven't been adding.. Sure they added the appartments but most ppl still prefer normal housing. So I suggest they add another "larger" type of appartment for 1mil so people can choose between a small 500k apartment and a 1mil apartment. Furthermore I suggest to only allow FC leaders to own a house. There, problem solved.

That is where you are wrong, I just said they "lend" their FC to another member or friend. Considering that friend didn't just pay his/her subscription to save the house, and the original owner isn't paying at all.. thats not a win situation for SE.



If it were up to me, I'd save the housing for the FC owners and force "loners" to get an appartment instead because those houses are too big for just one person anyway.
I'd rather not go down this road but if SE won't solve the problem another way.. I fear this might be the only sollution.

Would sadly only work if there was an 'FC Activity' meter or something, tracking individual accounts, which allows FCs. Otherwise, the amount of 1 Man FCs would skyrocket.

I just read another topic on this forum of someone who sais he has 5 houses on 1 account just to piss ppl off.... but in my opinion some players are into real estate and they buy up everything so they can drive up selling pricing.

I'm really into housing and I have more than one house.. IF you count the mansion as even being MY house, it's my FC's house... that I paid for solely. Some people really like pvp, some people really like pve, I really REALLY like housing. I'm also an RPer if that helps? I've made my small house into a 'public rp tavern' in the past and have actually logged in to find people in there using it. That's really nice to see, I always leave my houses unlocked so people can RP in them or just look around. Always kinda baffles me when people get scared and run like frightened bunnies when I catch them in my house. Either way, I paid my gil, I'm very active and my houses always have the newest stuff in them. I put in my time and effort. I deserve to have my plots as much as anyone else.


I post this almost everywhere I post, but if you want a tip on getting a house that isn't from a goddamn reseller.. check the crystals on the hour every hour. Yeah seems like a lot of work, but it's definitely worth it. I can confirm that housing does demolish on the hour. On a busy server like Balmung you MIGHT need friends at the other city state's aetherytes to help you find your house as quickly as possible, but it works. Houses pop up a reasonable amount, if I really wanted to I could have a house on each of my characters above 50. On Balmung. Whenever I see people saying ONE HOUSE PER ACCOUNT, I think, no, no. MORE wards. They are affordable enough. But if the supply and demand were skewed, there would be no resellers. This isn't the 90ies, server resources shouldn't be an issue with the amount of cash they bring in in the cash shop alone, our subscriptions aside.

I'm glad that you were able to get a house and enjoy the role-play elements so much, but this is precisely the kind of thing that has led to this crisis to begin with. That so many vocal people have made seeing random people running around wards such an integral part of their experience has led to people like me not even being able to get a house to hang out inside and decorate inside.

I thought that these apartments were going to be the answer, and I recently came back again from a break only to find that no, I can't get an apartment, either. Supply isn't there. It's so ridiculous that they have had an entire xpac to work on this issue and this is what we have - still empty houses and empty, useless wards, still not enough housing for everyone who wants one to be able to just log on and get one to play with and decorate, still no solution and still people on here going on about "but, but my NEIGHBORS".

Please let this idea of seeing 'neighbors' being so critical go. Please let the rest of us have houses. This isn't really directed at you - just this sentiment that I see everywhere.
