The attack typology of the game is beyond ridiculous; I can only hope such effects as blunt/slashing/piercing resistance down will be removed or modified by the time such a job joins the game, rather than Monk being used as a (poor) excuse to implement it.
That said, the gameplay of a two-handed mace tanks doesn't necessarily seem all that different from Warrior. Unless additional universal mechanics were added that it could take advantage of to take on a unique spin, it doesn't really seem worth the development time.
...If they were added, however, it could be a pretty amazing and distinct tank.
Good points. Yeah, the attack types and the certain dps that can put debuffs specific to these is what forces and what alienates certain jobs from being "meta", --- well one of the factors anyway. But if they don't remove this, it would be necessary that they introduce certain jobs that will synergize with those that currently do not. And we wont know for sure until they announce whatever combat system revamps they have in store for us in 4.x![]()
