I think you have forgotten what it means to be new in a dungeon as a fresh level 60 character... We're used to speedrunning and masspulling everything by now, yes - but do you really believe thats something someone has to learn during their FIRST attempt in their FIRST level 60 dungeon when they want to finish the story? Cut that guy some slack, most of us prefer faster runs, but thats what the bonus is for - you take 5 minutes longer, you get 50 extra-tomes. Seems pretty fair to me. Learning how to masspull will happen soon enough - when they're more familiar with the dungeon, all skills of their class (including the level 60 one they most likely just got...) and with better gear.

As i already said i won't blame if we wipe and come back to little pulls, at least you tried to please your party members, that's the social part of an MMO...

Sadly it's not uncommon for "mentors" to be impatient and not helpful. Many don't care that you only get to run a piece of content once for the first time, and they'll tell you to rush, skip cutscenes or handle pull sizes that are more suitable for overgeared and experienced players. It's best to just brush it off and queue again like you did.

You seem to be on the same server as me so feel free to add me or ask me to tag along for first-time help (as long as it's not savage or extreme mode hehe).

Edit: Oh forgot I removed my sig. Here's my main and the offer still stands. ^^

    That's not cool.

Unfortunately the mentor system is very flawed and a lot of players who have no business being mentors go without punishment for their behaviour. The best you can do is report them and hope that they're dealt with - or just write it off as a bad run and try again later. Thankfully it's a mixed back where players are concerned and many runs tend to go smoothly.

Long term players for some reason can't seem to grasp that people aren't 10 minute perfect speedrunners on their first try. Hell, I'm quite sure a lot of them would happily instate a mandatory viewing of the entire game with all spoilers just so they could get a "yes" to "did you watch a guide first?"

Such a shame to hear this Kragon. unfortunately there are some bad eggs out there. all i can advise is try and find a Free Company who like to help out. normally going "can someone help me do this dungeon? you'll get bonus" is enough to get people to help. i try to help out in the FC as much as i can unless i'm busy with my daily stuff

Seems as if we have slightly different views about what "social" means - for me that means communication and being vocal about things, not trying my hardest to please some random people in a dungeon...
They asked if they could go faster, OP said its their first time and they'd like to go slower - thats a totally legit descision (tanking ARF sucks btw - one of the worst dungeons to tank).
Can you kick for difference in playstyle? Yes, you can.
Was this okay - specially from a mentor? Nah, dont think so - in this scenario its a dickmove and the only bright side is, that they're hurt themselves more than the OP by acting like jerks - waiting for a new tank (or a whole new queue), losing the bonus and potentially discouraging a new player, even a tank!, from continuing the game...

I mained a Pally for all of ARR and it didnt matter whether or not I was tanking Haukke HM for the first time or Vault for the first time. I pulled the same in both instances. Run ahead of the group, lob into a flash/scorn, run into the the second/third group repeat, pop CDs, coral the mobs into a pile and flash/scorn, rotate Halone etc. Never pulled less than one group since the first addition of HM dungeons in ARR. If I picked up tanking again and threw myself into Baelsar's, I would pull exactly the same despite having never touched a tank since I had Hullbreaker HM on farm (tank gear glamour). Im sorry, but the whole "im new to tanking this dungeon" is no excuse for pulling one group at a time ever. A level 60 tank should have developed these "mass pulling" habits sometime between tanking 2.0-3.0. Good gawd. Not looking forward to Jump Potion Tanks having already dealt with Fate/PotD Grinding Tanks.

As someone who heals while DPSing, tanks and plays BRD, BLM and SMN as her main DPSroles, I adore large pulls and small pulls lull me to sleep.

But, I don't think they have to do big pulls, even if requested. They only need to maintain hate on what they pull to meet their minimum requirements. Just like healers don't have to DPS, and DPS don't have to use AoErotations. It is a great bonus when they do, but I don't think it is reason enough to vote kick someone.

I disagree that they are being selfish by not giving in to what extra demands are being placed on them. Frankly, the people making the demands for extra and kicking them for not meeting them are the selfish people.

Reading too much of the forums makes me very sad and apathetic.

I sort of disagree trash mobs are trash mobs, at 60 you should be used to doing fast/decent sized pulls. The mentor kept saying "pull" all but you chose to ignore them. My question was they the healer or did the healer disagree? If the healer never disagreed then their is nothing for you to worry about. Big pulls are on the dps and healer to be able to cope with them.

As for first boss not sure how you wiped everything is avoidable unless you stayed in AOE's etc. Yes the 2nd mentor should of gave some tips, although if it was me all I would of said was tank and spank, avoid AOE's, kill adds. which is basically what you always do in every dungeon.Only boss in there that I would have given tips on, would of been the last one focus ice>kill flame, when boss does long cast get in a portal.
