It's the security of a transfer option to a different plot/area. If there are fees or you have to pay the full price then so be it, am not expecting it to be free. It's just in case that if you do relinquish your plot and you get a DC/too slow/something unexpected happens on your way to purchase you're not stuck in limbo with no home to go back to if they're all bought out quickly ^^

And the 'giving' to a friend argument in some posts... the friends are homeless too so what's the difference between a friend or a stranger getting the plot? Someone without a home is getting one so...
I wish I could share that feeling.

I saved the gil for a long time in order to get a L plot. I held out on multiple waves of new wards because I didn't want to settle for a S or M.
To expect people who saved for a long time to toss in another life-savings because they released new housing later down the line that better suit your tastes (that you didn't have the option, or had no hint as to what the new option would even be at the time). The concept that people think "current estate owners should be locked out of the new housing zone" is even remotely fair just completely baffles me.

Though I do agree with what you said and I have said it myself in an earlier post - it's not just the gil, but it's the security.
Having to relinquish a house in order to have access to the new zone puts you at negative the cost of your old house, nothing to show for it, simply for a "chance" at getting one in the new zones. You effectively risk it all, have come out with a negative cost, and aren't even gaurenteed to get your old house back if you can't get a new one.

Most actual estate owners aren't ar...eholes or anything. It's not like any of us are out there to prevent people from getting into the housing feature. We simply want access to the new option just like everyone else - without tossing the cost of our original house on the ground to get no return.
