I'd say 7 for me. With the amount of money they have, I've surprised they have not hired more people to actually make an equal amount of work. Everything, from the classes to the locations have not hyped me one bit.

In Heavensward, they had so much to present. 3 very diverse classes, 1 new race, amazing location and narrative to offer, gorgeous music and a clear objective. With Stormblood, they reduced their work to 2 classes chosen for their popularity(2 dps even), no new races, a confused trailer and some random shots that offers no feeling of adventure or narrative, not even a clip of the villain or the completed main song. :/

I don't know... I'm still eager to see where to music goes but there is just nothing much to expect. I don't care much about Doma. Ala Mihgo felt more important and interesting to me. The best best BEST part in the whole trailer was the shot of the distant Garlemald. I'm hyped for Garlemald and 5.0, not Doma.

Even the beastman tribes annoy me, going with genderlocked tribes of sexy female nagas and ugly turtle men. Where are my sexy male nagas, SE?!

Moreso it's just confusing. It seems rather rushed, as people have pointed out with the level of disjointedness.

I felt the worst parts of the Heavensward narrative were when the plot diverted from important things in Ishgard to random events in Ul'dah. Not only did we basically get exiled over nothing and there's no sense of justice delivered in our visits to Ul'dah, but it served to actually undermine the more important things in Ishgard. Random tangents (go to gridania to grab Kan-E-Senna because only she can talk to Moogles?) seemed like they were there purely to remind us that other characters still existed elsewhere in the world rather than actually integrate them in a meaningful way.

SE hasn't really been able to tie multiple storylines together in a way that makes sense (supposedly the ascians are a risk, but they always seem to fail/lose? They never actually do anything?), so I definitely expect narrative to burn while we fly from one end of the world to another.

That skill takes away auto attacks and makes preexisting skills more clunky then before, not only does the new 3.0 skills conflict with the older skills a BRD has, they took the toolkit of MCH and basically copy and pasted it without any insight on how it would mesh with BRD.

What you said is so ridiculous, you can't even understand how the class has been changed, imagine if in 4.0 they rework NIN to no longer be able to move when doing mudras, they need to be in a new stance that requires you to do half circle motions in order to use mudras, but that new stance also takes away your instant cast weapon skills, also makes venom and also makes kiss of the wasp a pointless skill, and makes all weapon skills aoe based. Fathom that and you'll understand how BRD was pretty much handled in regards to adding just a cast bar.

We will play Stormblood again for 2 years. With every patch we will most likely get again 2 new dungeons for our roulettes, 4 raids, a 24man raid with killing trash and bosses and so on.
What is that supposed to mean? If SE has found a formula that works for them, then they're going to keep doing that formula and experimenting with newer additions. No one complains about McDonald's constantly advertising and making Big Macs, but apparently here, it's a problem when the content is the same formula, with different lore, background, mechanics and looks, which isn't even comparable to the Big Mac analogy anyways.

    • Is anybody even idling in Ishgard?
    • Is anybody going to Azys La without the need of gathering/FATE'ing/questing?
    1. Is there a problem with them being our Ravana/Bismarck mimics for 4.0? I mean it worked before, the only issue there was Bismarck was DoA since you could get i180 weapons via hunts + tomestones.
    2. Maps will always stay empty, maps don't have any level of convenience that hubs like Idyllshire, the cities and the residential districts have.
    3. With the way the MSQ is going, I wouldn't be surprised if people are not idling in Ishgard, I mean a lot of people are using the MB in Ishgard, yes. But why do people need to idle in the latest town to validate the creation of a new city? It's like saying having a McDonalds on either side of your house is useless, since you're only ever going to use one. You don't know that, maybe you'll go to the other one cuz it's on the way to someplace you're gonna go...
    4. Some people go there to use /gpose, some people go there because they want to play Triple Triad, some people go there to level their desynth by buying from the vendor, some people go there to do their hunts for their Centurio seals. Azys Lla has a lot of uses that isn't just those three things... most maps do, to be honest, the least useful map is the main hub, which is Ishgard, but it's required for MSQ, so what are you gonna do? Just take a massive crap on the dev team because they made the main city where the story is gonna take place?

And what did you really get? Some little detail how the RDM and SAM will work and thats it.
Did you get any detail by watching the Fan Fest about the changes of the Battle system? No. Will we still keep our trashy cutscenes with nodding and smiling via our emote-tool? Yes. Will our characters look like dublicated dolls on newer regions? Yes. Sometimes I really wonder what makes people say those unnecessary things. Im not here to complain, Im here to give ideas to expand and improve some of the features. In the end, all we want is a better game atmosphere.
Was this something that OP brought up? No. They brought up the fact that they appreciate gathering, crafting and glamour aspects of the game. What does RDM, SAM, battle changes and character interaction in cutscenes have to do with the 3 things they brought up and appreciate. The OP has 100% no idea of what to do to possibly add new interactions to these systems besides "OMG, we've done this before... why can't we have something new?" Well what's the something new you'd like to have? All I see is literally complaining and no alternative ideas...

While I know what that person said is ridiculous, it literally was just adding a cast bar. The only clunky abilities are Repelling Shot and following up with a GCD skill, and the fact that you cannot save RoB recast triggers. New 3.0 skillls conflict with older skills a BRD has? That's an overstatement. Really not seeing how it conflicts... are you saying that literally just the cast bar has screwed up the playstyle of BRD? That's not right. Literally the only two issues are RoB recast triggers and using a GCD skill after Repelling Shot.

6, because ONLY two new jobs, and both being DPS when we all know the DPS queues sucks exactly because there are too many DPS displeases me.
And because streams didn't show a thing about the "4.0 super new battle system"

To be honest the Heavensward Fan Fests were the same were they not? We got the dirty details in Live Letters during Spring along with the benchmark. The problem is that Stormblood features were less than Heavensward so naturally he had fewer things to talk during those 3 Fan Fests. It pains me SE decided to go the safe route and didn't even try to improve the game a bit more. It's always that cheap "data/memory" limitations excuse for things we want and ask.
The last Live Letter was very painful to watch. It was Yoshi going full NOPE to almost every questions. I hope they at least increased the quality of the areas, dungeons and cutscenes but I really really doubt. So we get less features with every patch. I hope they won't decrease the number of dungeons to 1 during the 4.X series of patches like they did with 3.X. They had pretty funny slides on their last keynote too. Drop of PS3 support and increase of PC minimum specs listed with big letters like it's some huge and important feature but why? If they aren't gonna to improve the graphics why they even increased the minimum specs to Witcher 3 lvl of hardware? i5 minimum seriously? This is not Battlefield 1 Jesus. And that trailer was cool but yeah disjoint as well. It felt like 2 completely different expansions merged into one.

The disappointing thing was the live letter Q&A for me.

There's no new race but they won't give us more character customization options for current races instead..

and other stuff like that because "server limitations".

About a 7-8. When I heard we weren't getting new/updated customizations for the races in 4.0, I just felt really disappointed to the point where I don't even attempt to play the current game as much anymore. I was really looking forward to that feature so we could see more variety/uniqueness in our own characters. I'm only still just playing it now to complete my alt character's main story and improve on my healing skills, but once I get done with both of these things, I may not pick up the game for awhile until another main story patch or Stormblood comes out.

-10 I'm super excited for this new expansion. FFXIV is the best MMO I've played in years and I want more of it. I also get my 2 favorite FF jobs this expansion so I'm very stoked.

Did you just compare apples and oranges? Just because something does work somewhere else, doesnt mean it only has to work on FFXIV as well. And also, I never said that they should completely overwork the formula of FFXIV. Im just saying, they can add or improve things. You are eating a big mac once in awhile, while its formula may stay for years. But a MMO.. You are playing it for years even and that's the difference.

Yes there is. We are talking about same things for the next 2 years, I wanted to mention again. 2 years of doing tomestone farming and Primals for mounts, weapons and gear. For me, I dont want to do the same thing I did for last 4 years.

You already saying it, they will remain empty. And why? Because they are not properly bound into the story. A MMO world should touch and bind someone's experience and joy for traveling. Why even wasting resources on them and not giving us a cutscenes into a immediate boss battle?!

Okay. So like 4 people in a server? Nope, Im not gonna make massive crap on them. Im gonna point it out, that nobody really needs to go to those places, which results in complete waste which is actually very sad. AND I never said Azys La or Ishgard are nonsene or unnecessary for the MSQ and should be crapped. Stop putting wrong words in my mouth.

A better character creation could help actually that many NPC's look way more unique to the game than just copies from the character creator?? Building a proper bond to story npc's should be a must in every JRPG. Did you ever check how the Scions looked in ARR? Yda is just a female blond Hyur in low level gear?! And you want to tell me our cutscenes are okay right now? Did you ever watch cutscenes in 1.X?! They're impressive.

Again, stop putting words which I never said. I never said the OP said this or said that. I said, the name of the thread is called "Disappointment of Stormblood News". Whatever that OP said, is his/her opinion. Just because I tried to state mine however ends up as a complain. I wonder why? The answer is simple. There are people like you who are just ignorant.
