ok so its 60%? the whole point is that Yoshi himself considers 2.0 to be the version that is worthy of competing with other MMOs. We get our trial periods then, PS3 users get it then, which is just more evidence that 2.0 should be when they charge us, even at all. I think its perfectly fair to ask for a reduced price until then.

No where on the site does it mention reduced prices. There is information on what you pay per month. You knew this going in, AND the next months feature exclusive events and content that will not be available after 2.0 occurs.

Its clear they can keep around a much larger amount of people around if they charge less, so in all likely-hood the the chances of them making the same, if not more from the reduced price AND having more people stick around for when it goes full price seems like the better option....from a business prospective.

Do you have any evidence of this rentention other than riggable "like" polls and fan forums that are chock full of people who haven't even bought the game?

Also, how many are simply trying for a deal? Do you honestly think any price raise will be met other than with threats to quit and claims to get "even more people" if they kept the price low?

well you need to give those poles some credit too. i am one of those people who arent completely willing to pay full price until 2.0 and im sure as hell not alone, plenty of people who do play on this site feel the same. Of course it may be a small % or for all we know those polls may be right it and might be a large %. The deal here is will SE risk it? the safer route is the lower price, its revenue they need and more people (no matter how many more do it) and less chance of losing them as future customers.

There is no reason to give a rigged poll credit. THEY ARE RIGGED. They do not indicate the target Audience that is affected by the change or they offer a data that has been skewed with multiple/false entries.

Indeed. The bottom line is, they need to pick the right price point, one that maximizes the right level of revenue.

In a hypothetical situation like the one BlueGartr implies:
A) 30% of players would pay full price (typically $12.99/month)
B) 70% of players would pay half price (typically $6.50/month)

you actually make more money in situation B even though you are charging less.

This has nothing to do with version 2.0. Now you're putting words in Yoshi's mouth, or otherwise trying to impose your own meaning in what he's saying. It doesn't work that way.

He states, quite clearly, 1.2 is when he feels the game will be at a stage where it's acceptable as a launch-status MMORPG to charge subscriptions.

His statements about subscriptions have nothing to do with version 2.0... your assertions to the contrary notwithstanding.

If you feel it's not worth paying for 'til 2.0, by all means don't re-enable your account and wait 'til 2.0. That's perfectly within your right to do.

But in the meantime, stop spinning, twisting and distorting the facts and what Yoshi himself very plainly says to serve your own personal agenda. Your personal version of what's happening or what should be happening - in your opinion - is not a mandate for SE and does not override nor undermine what Yoshi himself has stated.
