The first Roegadyn were from Aerslant (Meaning first land(?)) so it makes sense the artist would draw their iconic boats around their home island.

Thanks! What surprises me the most is the floating island north of Garlemald and apparently there's another area labeled in Eorzean script next to The Dalvalan Grath, but it's too blurry to make out. Still wondering if we'll make it to/pass Thavnair on our way into Othard...
did thay ever say what the battle system changes are? or was that just the revamp for additional actions?
Bringing in a line from a discussion on Twitter with @faiarrow to (hopefully) clear up the Doma thing.
この世には、すでにドマという都市は存在せぬ。帝国による粛清により、文字どおり滅亡したのだ。
The city called Doma no longer exists in this world. Thanks to the Empire's purges, it has been literally and completely destroyed.
It should hopefully be clear where this went askew. The city of Doma as it once was, as it was intended to be (as far as Yugiri is concerned) has been utterly destroyed. The political purges carried out by the Garlean Empire have turned it into a province of the Empire, Doma in name alone. The uprising was razed to the ground, but the city stands; it just stands as something new and wholly unlike itself.
Seeing the map right now, would it grow bigger or rather be given more detail considering that the New world isn't shown? I know we have no reason to even go there yet, maybe in the far future, but makes me think just how big the world is.
They might make the city one zone, now that they have dropped PS3 support. As I said earlier, assuming we have the same number of zones as HW they would have to have shown us everything we will be seeing in Doma in the Live letter or Ala Mhigo will have less areas than Othard. If we include the city Othard has 4 zones shown. Ala Mhigo has one shown so far and assuming Ala Mhigo is another that currently gives us two. HW had 7 zones total including Ishgard itself.
My FFXI nostalgia is tingling. I see a turtle, tiger, bird and dragon flying around the far eastern islands. Are we going to see FFXIV's version of Genbu, Byakko, Suzaku and Seiryu in this expansion?
this still doesn't make sense.
the quote says that Doma was "literally and completely destroyed". that says to me, that Doma is literally not there anymore. like the actual city itself, the buildings, the people, are gone. it says "the City called Doma no longer exists."
yet then you say the city stands, "as something new and wholly unlike itself." which is not what the quote says. the quote says the City doesn't exist, and it is has literally been destroyed. that doesn't sound like a metaphorical statement.
so which is it?
could it be that they destroyed Doma, and then built another city somewhere else and named it Doma as well? maybe we'll get a "Ruins of Doma" type area/dungeon?
