When I see something official saying so. Until then, it's just speculation. I'd love SAM to be the second new job.
Yea because everyone will be playing red mage lol, who wants to play samurai or dancer when you can play red mage. But yea there's at least 2, at most 3 jobs this expansion.
Yoshida explained that the wording in English was not meant to imply SAM was the next job to be implemented. In the Japanese dialogue, Red Mage and Samurai were arranged precisely so that the first kanji reading of every line spelled out "itsumo arigatou".
If I recall there's a leaked doc of some of the files added to the client with 3.5 and some of them are job quests labeled jobrdm and jobsam. There were no other new ones. I think it's safe to say the 2 jobs we are getting are RDM and SAM.
Doesn't really invalidate it though, they still chose to say samurai when they could have picked something else, on top of it being known samurai was the initial choice for heavensward, and other information since then. I'm sure he would have said the same thing about their inclusion of Red Mage in that dialogue as well because he isn't going to actually confirm any new job prior to the actual reveal.
It's also possible that they did that to mislead data miners.

To be fair, Red Mage was more requested than Samurai. That's not to say Samurai hasn't been highly requested though. Nor is it highly unlikely that the files are meant to mislead. SAM could as easily mean Sample as Samurai.
It really wasn't though. Yoshida has mentioned samurai in far more interviews and comments from live letters etc from feedback than pretty much any other job.
Considering I've seen people count out and list the number of games certain jobs have been in the games to prove a point, I won't challenge you to go through every live letter and tally up the number of mentions. Instead, I'll simply say that the number of comments by Developers is not an indication of greater demand by players, just a greater rate of reply by the developers.
