Since this is not a beta and refering to it offends you so much. What do you deem a sufficient quick way to describe the game we are playing, which is essentially a test build.

It's not a test build. It is, however, an old build.

The game was released a year ago. This is not a beta. This is the real thing. There is nothing 'beta' about this game.

Eh, both are for-real-builds. One is just older, worse and generally outdated.

That hasn't stopped some people from enjoying themselves...

And this is really the heart of the matter. This is nothing like waiting until "x" amount of expansions are out to consider a full game. FFXIV STILL doesn't even have a mailing system or a search function. It doesn't have commands for linkshells. It's missing a LOT of core mechanics. WoW was not missing these at launch. WoW was not broken at launch. WoW was not broken a year after launch. FFXIV was and is. End of story.

i love peoples viewpoints on the ratios. 2/3 people who view these forums are diehard nerds that will support this game even if its awful.

No to the contrary, I play because it's a nice way to spend some of my free time away from the grind of RL, the point is simple either you pay or you don't.

The problems many people face is that this game has become people's second job, that's when the fun ends and people spend countless hours posting on forums to justify the entitlement they feel because it has become their second job.

For me, i couldn't resist pissing some people off by letting you know how much i don't care whether you agree or not if i pay, i pay, for some of you this is the most attention you get the rest of the week from the world that cares little for your feelings, wants or needs.

you have made my day a little more entertaining, for that I thank you.

4 hours per craft level above 40 is the best.

"Awful" is subjective. I won't deny the nerd part, but I have a ton of fun in the game and that is worth the price of a subscription to me.

I love how 90% of the people that say FFXIV is so awful and not worth paying for have put enough time in to it to take 1 or more jobs to level 50 and are still playing it a year later.

I've played some awful games in my time and they don't usually get a second look, never mind a hundred plus hours of play.

I couldn't be happier with what Yoshi has done and what he has planned for the future of this game. Heck, at this point I'm ready to buy a plane ticket to Japan, head over to SE's offices and give him a big wet sloppy kiss for saving this game!
