Perversely I seem to recall that the ilv205(?) PVP set did contain a bunch of accuracy, which was annoying for me as a PVPer but handy for filling out sets back when ilv205 was still a thing.

What's so great about accuracy anyway? I hardly see my character misses anything unless she's under the blind effect. Even in endgame raids and trials.

Outside of savage/ex primals, accuracy is 100% completely useless after like 550~ as the accuracy requirement is very low.

Can verify as a WHM that it was extremely sad to miss long casts on easy dungeon mobs with no accuracy bonuses from gear at all until the great materia revolution. However, too much accuracy is a waste of time.
I have no problem with PvP gear in PvE. The Acc check for dungeons is trivial anyway and i would prefer the nub to be in consistent i235 gear than a mash of 150 whites and 270 bluesOk, so ive read that pvp gear is frowned upon outside of pvp. For a casual player that does not raid, gearing a job thats not my main, i can throw on a set of 235 pvp gear infinitely faster than i can put together a lore set. I see that materia effects only work in pvp, so thats definitely a downside. But if the stats are weighted overall better for a pvp set than a lore set, whats the problem?

The weekly cap has been lifted on the i250 Alexander: Creator gear (save for the weapon token), so why not use that instead?
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.
The reason for Morale is to counter exactly what the OP is asking about.
It allows them to have a much lower iLvl for PvP gear so people are less inclined to use it outside of PvP areas. The morale buffs the iLvl within PvP zones (except anything worth a damn as it's all iLvl capped anyway) in order to counter this lower iLvl rating than current tier.
Honestly, if you want to gear up secondary jobs, you really should be spamming Alex normal. 15 extra iLvls is no joke, and it is probably just as quick (if not faster) to farm a piece of gear from Alex N than it is to farm the wolf marks for PvP gear.

Probably because it's a pain to actually win those gear tokens with everyone rolling need on everything, and it's much faster to get wolf marks for a full i235 PvP set to start off with.
