oh well, unlocked the mentor roulette recently. Get put in a lot of guildhests, over in a minute. Get put in a lot of synced level 50 extreme trails, Ramuh being the most common. the people there have almost half my health, they have the most awful gear possible and die to the most basic mechanics. I think I've been put in 10 extreme/ballads and NONE of them have been successful due mostly to there dead weight. A tank without provoke on Ultima's bane ballad, a conjurer(no job, whitemage) in garuda and so on. A typical extreme goes with the explanation of tactics if there isn't a ninja pull- I am a dps and only know dps tactics, I don't know any tank tactics, normally one of them does, its a nightmare when none of them know. Explaining tactics achieves nothing, I think I've given up on this mentor thing all ready after less than week.

Why do ranegd dps/ caster always use the lbs lately on bosses in VA/WC/ and DS when we clearly have melee with no adds anywhere? i know it looks COOL as a mch put it the other day but it does less damage. please DONT if we have a melee

To be fair, a lot of times it seems that melees are not going to lb at all unless you ask, so I don't blame ranged classes to jumping the opportunity to hit that button.

To be honest if I am in a group as a DPS (usually Bard or Blackmage) once the LB2 hits I will wait, but if they never make an attempt then I will use it. Granted I do know some people who will cast it ASAP then claim the melee didn't use it within 2secs of it dinging. lol

Typically in any instance where we can get lb3, I pay attention to when we get it and will usually wait till around 10% of the boss hp left to use it if no one else has by that point. Except for Ifrit HM, I will use lb3 as soon as it comes up there.

Some melee wait until low boss hp before doing lb3, because when they do it, they lose their stacks\buff. And if this happens in the middle of fight, they have to build their stacks from the beginning. Of course this is ok only if they don't get another lb after anyway.

Not sure if this is part of it, but I have ranged LB before a boss is pulled, because as soon as the boss is pulled you lose LB. Meaning the melee can't LB at the start of the fight.

Melee LBing at 2% is worse than a ranged LBing at 10% or more.

Regardless of if it does less damage overall, wasting all that potential damage of LB3 (100k, when you only need 30k to beat the boss) and then 3x the LB itself, one from each alliance. That's painful to watch.

A DRK.

A DRK with an ilvl 255 weapon, ilvl 235 PvP gear except for bracelet which was 148, and rings which were 120 and 125. I did the maths. This guy was hovering around 210, and was trying to MT. Which might have been fine except for a few things:

I have never ever ever despised the stereotype of stupid edgelord DRKs so much.

I had initially picked DRK to main, and I like to think I do an ok job at it. But after leveling a healer nothing makes me clench up and start dreading the run more than seeing a DRK zone in with me. I notice many DRK's think Darkside and Grit are an either or choice and that really irritates me.
