So the meaning behind the Spiderman shirt is going to be much more direct than an obscure reference to the director of a few movies involving Spiderman, IMO. BLU seems much more likely, especially considering the New Year's message and the fact that a hero who is bitten by a spider gains that spider's powers. Something that is much more direct a reference.
Wasn't just the director their is an actual Samarui Spiderman, also in Japan they have a competition called Samurai fighting spiders. Then we have the DAT files which appeared last patch.
