Used to love Deep Sleep on my BLM. Now every enemy in a dungeon is immune to Sleep so... I don't see much point for it outside of PvP. Maybe less of a, 'Remove/Change,' and more of a, 'Let me put things to sleep in dungeons again.'
If I had to pick a good trait, I'd pick Firestarter: it drastically changes the style of the BLM that nearly makes everything below 44 almost useless: thanks to it your dps is now bigger and etc.
On the other hand if I had to pick the useless ones I'd get every needless passives such as "Stat Increase" or "Time increase/Reduction". They could just be implemented into the class/job from the starter with probably no difference.
Stats barely matter while levelling anyway.

Afaik BLM sleep has been nerfed in pvp and it's now single target. Making this trait absolutely and utterly useless.
Cure/CureII etc are 2 second casts with the normal 2.5sec GCD. So it's not as fast as a Cure spell.Honestly, that reduced cast time is pretty godly. It may not be as nice as the boosted Stoneskin potency we used to have, but a Stoneskin that casts as quickly as a Cure spell is not to be underestimated. There are a quite a few cast bars that are quick enough that a standard Stoneskin cast takes too long to slip one in before the attack goes off, but a quickened Stoneskin can fit.

I think the only traits that I really looked forward to are the ones increasing damage by....30%(?). Or the ones giving you an extra astral/Umbral stack for BLM. Or an additional aetherflow stack. Those are great.

If that's the case then yeah, it's entirely useless outside of leveling content and, even then, not really necessary. I used to encourage THMs/BLMs to use Sleep strategically, but ever since HW came out and Dungeon NPCs are immune there really is no point. The spell itself is almost useless now. Only useful in PvP or if you're having a hard time leveling.
Repose for WHM, too. I remember when we used to use that on the big dragon in Brayflox when I was a new white mage.If that's the case then yeah, it's entirely useless outside of leveling content and, even then, not really necessary. I've been requesting this since 3.0 but a new monk trait called "Hurricane Kick": 5% chance that each GL3 refresh procs a free tornado kick that doesn't consume stacks. In a 10 minute fight I estimated this to be an increase from 2-4 uses a fight to 4-8 uses a fight to put it more in line with forbidden chakra. I'd be intestested in this change rather than a flat potency buff to the skill going into the expansion

Good traits should either add class flavor (like make dragoons jump higher or something) or some new gameplay element to a job. Examples:
Firestarter/Thundercloud
Ninja's safe fall and movement speed
Bard's River of Blood
Freecure, Overcure, combat raise
Supervirus
Good traits are rare in FFXIV. Most traits are lazy filler. Is 20% reduction on Rampart overpowered before level 14? It has to be locked behind a trait? Basically the entirety of Gladiator's traits and really almost any "Enhanced X" trait is garbage, especially on a non-crossclass ability. If a 6 second stun isn't overpowered at level 36 then it's probably fine at level 18.
Man, they really screwed up by adding Deep Sleep in the first place. AOE crowd control like that is insanely overpowered if it's actually useful. If they do ever get away from designing "AOE as many super weak monsters as possible" dungeons and make crowd control important then they'll have to nerf that trait.
