Under that logic, so could the au'ra, they are half dragon after all. The thing with the ivalice moogles is that they could have an interesting lore explanation as to why they are not a beast tribe. Considering the ivalice moogles in their own games were as capable as the spoken races of eorzea (they even have the ability to change jobs), they would fit in as a spoken races here, and their connection to eorzea moogles could be stated as an evolutionary divergance, with ivalice moogles losing their connection to the elementals and becoming integrated with the spoken races early on, building technology, trading with, and becoming part of society. Conversely, the quiqirn (and to some extent goblins) are seen as lesser than spoken races, which is why they are classed as beast tribes, but in actuality there is no such thing as a beast tribe other than a separation from society, and outright racism, and we may see a change in perception moving out of eorzea.

As for the others, Burmecians are equivilent to Mi'qote, Ronso are equivilent to the wolf race that was scrapped (i.e. the dev team are ok with beast like races), and Qu were a joke on my part.

I should reiterate that I don't want any of the races I mentioned (except the ivalice moogle, but thats just because I want more small and large races, and races that are distinctive - viera being neither). My personal hope is that we get a brand new, distinctive race.

The thing you're missing is that the Au Ra (not au'ra) are still more human looking than beast looking. Same thing with the Miqo'te. Same thing with Viera. Current Playable Races have a very specific look and appearance; human. All, 'Unique,' races in the setting who diverge from this look are conveniently termed, 'Beast Tribes.' Even Moogles, who do live in harmony with the people of Gridania, for example, right alongside them, like in your example above. They're still not playable. Nor will they be.

The concept art we saw for Au Ra differed from the end result. Most of the proposed races had multiple options. Look at the Viera with the tall hulking concept art -and- the small childlike concept art. If the wolf race had been approved, my guess is it'd have been Au Ra with ears and tails instead of horns and scales.

I like the idea of a chimera ex-allagan type of race with a beef to settle with the evil of the world who get freed by some natural event or something...something 100% unique. Like...what if the allagans infused the dna of pre-existing creatures with their own or did that as experiments on slaves and now the slaves are awake. I don't know, I am not a concept designer but I believe those under the employ of SE can come up with much more creative and interesting races that tie into the lore of the world than hyurs with big ears.

We're not getting any new races with any kind of originality because the devs backed themselves into a corner by basing XIV directly on XI and copying the Vana'diel races (while also watering them down to make them more boring)

So gear, story and animations are all pretty much set in stone because they have gone too far to turn back and change it now.

IMO if they were set on basing XIV on another game, they should have chosen Ivalice instead of XI and started the game with Humes, Bangaa, Moogle and Viera and then added Nu Mou and Gria later.

That way they would have had all their playerbases covered as far as races from the start: Normal, Tough, Cute and Sexy, each one of them being unique from one another instead of just looking like the bunch of mutated Humans we have now

Sure. They infused their DNA with that of rabbits to survive off of fruits and vegetables as the calamity made it impossible to find ample meat. They have bunny ears and call themselves the Viera.

    Happy now?

No, no. It was an accident decades ago at a secret research facility run by the Syndicate of Uld'ah. They were trying to create cosmetic enhancements of Miqo'te to, um..., satisfy some of their customer's 'needs'. Well, alchemy is a tricky thing and one mutation let to another and there was a 'slight' Aetheric accident - explosion - involving the test subjects. The result was a new variant of Miqo'te with more curves, taller, rabbit like ears and short fluffy white tails.

Accidental or otherwise, the Syndicate was delighted with the result. They immediately began working on a breeding program to increase the number and variety of their new 'race'. However, before they were ready to unleash these 'Viera' as they called them, upon the markets of Limsa and Uld'ah, the Garleans invaded and over ran their research location. Fearing for his creation's safety, the lead researcher managed to evacuate and release them all, in the hope that they would thrive and survive, despite the odd origin of their race.

Funnily enough these Viera once released from captivity demonstrated an ability to breed - like rabbits - and are now finding their way into many parts of Eorzean society. Much like Miqo'te they are agile and lithe and compete for jobs primarily in the entertainment industry. As yet their numbers are few, but it would not take long for them to grow to a mighty race, if only they could escape the preconceptions of others based on their appearance.

    Thanks,

I know that the lore typically has a slightly serious air to it, but I would really like to see a bit more 'fantasy' and silliness enjected into things, it might spice it up for us.
