Why is game entitlement a thing and people think they deserve every item in the game?

Nope they didn't earn the anima. What they should have done was participating in all the level 60 content to get it done it, even if they didn't like some of it, like a true fan that supports the game. /s

Now seriously, it's a ilvl 270 weapon, it's not even the best weapon (yet), it's definitely not the best looking one. Let people farm it the way the want it, it's just a glorified (bad) glamour.

They don't feel validated in their own enjoyment if people don't notice how better they are than us.

but do some pvp to earn it? HELL NO!!!!

and of those that do jump into pvp to get stuff many don't even try. they'll get wolf marks for loseing hell even get a loeing streak bonus! WTF????

so then you have people who actually enjoy pvp and play to win getting matched with these people that'll just afk and lose and just makes a hash of everything.

but thanks for the flimsy example? I guess? the issue with the hellhound mount wasnt the fact it was limited- its the fact it was limited to a select few at the top. it wasnt rewarded for participation, it was rewarded for beating other people. Seriously, if this were the case, the GARO mounts would be unpopular and people would be outraged. Timed exclusives arent the same as actual competition rewards.

It was a mount that, realistically, a newbie into pvp, no matter how interested, just wouldn't be experienced, geared, or simply prepared enough to achieve before it was already gone. and that's before we discuss the issues with the feast ladder. "Some pvp" would not have been enough- in order to beat out the actual veteran pvpers, they would have to play much, much more games to match their placings.

I mean its not like winning is a requirement for the actual mounts people are currently after or anything... the only reason people are AFKing for loss marks is because they dont even have the Marks for the GARO gear to begin with... plus its a reportable offense. might want to try filling some of those out sometimes.

So basically nothing is earned in this game juding by everyone's response I always thought effort mattered. I'm sure glad life doesn't work like this and those who work actually get rewarded for their efforts

Life doesn't always work that way unfortunately.

One of the first lessons I got as a kid was "life isn't always fair" so if you are missing this life lesson then you might want to study up on the background of this well known saying.

The kid next door has a brand new video game console even though he bullies you and is an ill mannered brat, but your parents can't afford one even though you are a good and well mannered kid...life is not fair. Someone got the job you wanted and they are totally unqualified for it, but they got the job because they are friends with the business owner...life is not fair.

I could go on with examples, but yeah your view on life is only through rose coloured glasses. You aren't seeing what life is really like sometimes.

I just don't get your issue at all. Like for example if someone rides pass you on a rare mount, or with certain gear pieces, or with certain titles. Do you analyze them thoroughly to try to find out if they got it from skill or bought it? If you do this....why do you do this? Do you feel jealousy or some other emotion that possibly fuels your need to know and or care about how that person obtained the things they have even though they are a total stranger?

I personally would never buy a clear for something, but I don't really care if others do because I don't see the point in sticking my nose into what random strangers are doing nor do I feel like I need to know. I see other players all around when I am online and thoughts wondering about the method in which they obtained the things they have never occur to me. I just go about my own business and play and have fun in my own ways.

When I see primal birds this is all that is going through my head anyway....lol



In general comparing your efforts and subsequent rewards to another person is bad and will only make you depressed. Some people in life get things easier than you and sometimes you get things easier than others it is just how the world works (MMO environments are even worse in this respect because RNG is so prevalent). Kind of like that one kid we've all had in our school classes who never seems to need any help and sleeps through class and still gets As, while some of us study our butts off and pay attention in every class and barely make those As.

I find buying clears unappealing, but I my thinking has changed a bit over time. I think the thing that bothered me the most is how clear sellers used to spam shout - that was almost as annoying as RMT spam. Now I see it more in PF and I would just like it to be in its own section.

That being said, it kind of makes sense in an RPG that rich merchants or spoiled nobility who are unskilled in the arts of battle might pay mercenaries to escort them into some dangerous area to try to acquire some valuable treasure! So now I think of clear selling as being something like escort missions for player characters.

The next step at some point might be to make it through dungeons as a crafter or gatherer in order to create some powerful item or gather some very rare material...

I don't give a second thought to what other people have, or how they got it, cause it doesn't affect me in the slightest. If someone waits till content is outdated to do it because its easier, there's nothing wrong with that. In fact there's a big positive for the game developers if old content still gets used after it is no longer relevant. That right there is a continuing return on the initial investment for making that content.

People that do stuff/get stuff when its current get the prestige of having it then and there. They get to enjoy the benefits for the entire length of current content. If people have an easier time after content is nerfed or becomes outdated, it doesn't invalidate the effort invested and prestige gained from getting that content down when it was current. The people who do it after are late to the party and those doing current content are at the new happening place.

Anyone who gets upset about people doing old content for old rewards is a douchenozzle in my book.

The Allagans have more presence than coil. They're the entire reason we're doing Frontlines in the first place!
