Just to toss another stone onto the Ilberd side of the scale (as if the poor device weren't strained to the breaking point as it was), talking to one of the NPCs in the Rising Stones towards the end of the latest batch of MSQs (I think it was Homei?), he talks about what a durn shame it was we weren't able to round up all of them Crystal Braves or their ringleader. It was kind of out-of-the-blue, and made me wonder if SE wasn't trying to remind players with the attention span of goldfish that there were some important NPCs still running around out there who might become important again soon. Of course, I'm not sure how likely it is that goldfish-players would bother talking to random NPCs in the first place, but eh, it's something.

Ilberd, Laurentius, and Yuyuhase are still at large and need to be chastised throughly. I just wonder if 4.0 final battle will be against the Zenos yae Galvus or the Griffin. Heavensward had us eliminate Thordan first in 3.0, before Nidhogg conveniently revived to be the true final boss in 3.3.

Interestingly, the lore book says that Yuyuhase willfully turned on Lolorito in favor of Ilberd once promised a high position in Ala Mhigo should it be reclaimed...

Very much so Hoping that Ilberd was not the -true- Griffon, but one of the stand-ins. I was hoping we'd continue to see the Griffon well into Stormblood. Though I suppose the Griffon might be less the man, and more the mask at this point.

I actually wouldn't mind if Gallien (the fake Griffon that was part of 3.4) ends up taking up duties as the "true" Griffon...given that he was inspired by us maybe he'll even end up leading the more moderate resistance that we do end up helping.
