Viera as the next new race~ Show your support

Oh no, that's just fanart I found. There isn't a lot of fanart of male vieras, but I found this one and wanted to share it.
They did make a male viera concept art for ffxiv which is in my initial post, and I like the appearance of the tall and short ones.

The Viera race originally was strickly a female only race, no males, in FF lore. Not saying YP couldn't add males to it, wouldn't quite fit..but XIV has it's own lore too..but if they are wanting to stick close to the original Viera lore it'd be fitting (IMO) to do Females: Viera and Males: Ronso (or something).

Either way, +1 here.

Huh? While I'm indifferent to Viera's inclusion myself, I just wanted to pop in to say this. Male Vieras very much do exist in FF lore. They just live independent to females of the race and the female settlements are focused on IIRC.

I played FFXII and Tactics A2 and never see any male viera.

Viera do exist even in XII, but they are even MORE isolated then FFXI Mithra males. They live in their own seperate village and only meet when needed from either side.

As well a sub-race known as Feol Viera exist in atleast XII Revenant Wings. With some tweaking they could easily be the second clan if SE ever does decide to add Viera to XIV.

I'm all for viera but I'd want them to be as close as posable to there models from ff12 not the stupid lala bunny's there not viera that's a potato with a cotten taIL and ears

Yes, male viera do exist in ffxii. In the lore at least. You don't actually SEE them in the game, but they're there.

Mithra were female-only. They added males, changed the name to Mi'qote, and there we go. Galka were male-only. Now we have Roegadyn females. Viera, if added, will not be called Viera, but will have a new name, males added, and an entirely new set of lore describing their history in this game.

Do not expect any race from another Final Fantasy to make it into this one completely unchanged. This is not Final Fantasy XII. This is Final Fantasy XIV. Anything borrowed from other Final Fantasy games will be given a makeover to give it its own identity in this game.

(And, as others have noted, even in the Ivalice setting of FFXII, Viera DO have males - they simply do not show up in any of the games, just in the lore.)

I'd welcome Viera, but I'd want a reverse of the Au Ra.

Females being tall hulking monster-faced warriors.
Males being small, adorable, demure gentlemen.
