Wonder how many are against it, that'd be an interesting number to know - if it's highly contentious or not. Is your concern the feet? I imagine ears might be a pain similar to the horns for the devs, but probably do able - might get a few derpy helmets though ahaha.

Personally really want something just different, but as I've seen their process with Au Ra and of course we have the other races.. I have a feeling that's just never going to happen and they'll all be more similar than dissimilar (which I understand why, but still - will wish in one hand and drop kupo nuts in the other).

So I've resigned that I'll never find something I like more than a Highlander*, and just thought that the Viera fans have been pretty steady. I thought that would mean something, consistency is good.

If they ever decide to go over the current races I'd love if they added "wild" options to the races we have available. More cat Mi'qote (like FFXI), Au Ra more beast than currently, Highlander who didn't learn about shaving their eyebrows.. you know the real wild stuff. :P

Probably the same amount who do want Viera, with the rest (majority) either not caring or aware of the Viera threads. I just genuinely don't like the Viera (and this is mostly the Au Ra's fault. If the Au Ra actually retained their more 'beastlike/dragon' design, then I would not care if Viera were added or not), especially as they don't really add anything new to the game :/

Originally when I saw the Viera thread (long ago) I thought they should just add another clan to Miqo'te, Taller bigger ears - since that's what I felt Viera would be simply. Miqo'te plus big ears and height. Also didn't find "bunny girl" that compelling of an idea, just because playboy/maid bunny sort of thing lol, but eh it's only a personal perspective and a few people revealed they actually quite liked their lore for Ivalice and such, far more complex to them than just showgirl for a club (which is about what I see, why I was never really excited for it).

Of course I know the game isn't just for me, so that's where my comment on consistency of desire came from (admitting the fan desire for it) - even if it's not mine. However, it would be prudent of SE to examine the dislike of something as well, not sure if its equal like to dislike but that'd be a note worthy stat to absorb~ Maybe they can do another poll, I always liked reading those!

Completely understand the desire for something special though, the beastlike desire - I thought I'd get it with Au Ra but definitely not the case when released. They're very much a human cosplaying sort of feeling, which isn't bad for everyone (I've read many like them as is).

In the end though it looks like maybe a new race in like another year and half or more, since no new race this expansion (baring some "JK, we did add a new one!!").

Not that I am for Viera, merely personal tastes mind you, but as I've now witnessed that they couldn't even leave the iconic attire of RDM alone and felt the need to make it poofy and frilly for females, I sense there is no further desire to go against the grain of making a female variant of a race not cute. I highly doubt one would see the older, mature forms of Viera and instead have some moe mutation. I think this is why we won't see further races for a time. They've seen the demographics for anything not cute be covered and cuteness capacity is reaching critical mass with three (possibly four) races fitting that mold.

Is this just fanart or from SE itself? I doubt it's from SE since... Until now they never make male viera.
