    you only need to join PF pugs, to make things challenging.
    every new primal they release, is getting easier and easier; Zurvan is the easiest yet, but still pugs can't do it; not a single clear pt i joined, has been able to skip 1st soar (even with 6 dps) and 90% of groups can't even deal with soar or even southern cross - only one pt could deal with tethers...once, then they wiped us on soar, and then disband.
    You know they ARE revamping 4.0 combat for a reason right? I believe they reached their limit with the current combat sistem, because due to bigger rotations they had to make combat more slower. And now they have to readjust it for a new and probably faster combat sistem.

    Lets not forget that what they are releasing now is just to keep us busy until 4.0, their real efforts are all going towards 4.0.

    Relic would have to be a full fledged Savage obtainable weapon only, with no way to do it without committing to a static, and they'd have to somehow ruin housing, and FC airships.

    If cashflow and Relic are gone, I'd finally quit. Hard enough with most of my friends practically being gone.

    F2P/Freemium or P2W/cashshop would be the main reason but if for some reason all my friends stop playing it would be a very hard shock too..

    Honestly the pricing for the Stormblood CE has me very close... There's been a disturbing trend of constant price hikes in the Mogstation over the last year and now the expansion is massively overpriced. I'm getting tired of the community constantly giving SE a free pass to take advantage of their invested playerbase like this.

    Gutting classes to the current difficulty of World of Warcraft. FF14 might have too many skills at this point but Blizzard decided to take a whole bunch away in Legion. I like having to actually play my class and push more than 4 things off CD.

    they aren't revamping combat, they are just changing what some skills do. maybe put combos on 1 button, to reduce the nr of stuff you have on your skill bars.
    they aren't going to make combat faster, i'm pretty sure we'll still have the same GCD.
    and it's not about combat speed or rotations, it's about ppl being incompetent and can't even memorize basic simple mechanics, even if you keep telling them over and over what to do. most ppl can't seem to handle spread/stack mechanics.
    the only impressive part is that they managed to get carried through all the content to end-game, while not learning anything.

    Maybe if they implemented an in-game VoIP system, whether it be their own or licensed third party, it might alleviate some of the typical miscommunication and frustrations?

    Yes, I know people already use Teamspeak, Mumble, Discord, etc. but wouldn't it be nice to know in the back of your mind that everyone at least had a common baseline system available at all times?

    Personally, I'm still on the edge of quitting at the expansion launch due to my fear of having the same, exact cycle of patches that we have so far and I'm probably (hopefully?) not the only one with this fear.

    ARR was a relaunch, it was ok to play safe, but I was utterly disappointed with HW - especially the first 6 months where we had only 2 dungeons to run with, one of them being one of the worst ever made - and no relic to work for. For one thing I'll definitely wait a few months when SB is released to see how it is "content wise" as I don't want to risk ending up with running the same 2 dungeons over and over and over like I did in ARR (remember, relaunch) and HW (an expansion), but if I start seeing patch 4.1 with the same exact stuff that 2.1 and 3.1 had, I'll probably call it quits for good.

    Had the same fear when Heavensward started and I don't think they will change it with SB (lets be honest, why should they? That formula gives them money and is safe).
    The only possible change I see is the number of dungeons for each patch beeing reduced to one....
