It's from an interview with some magazine, forgot which though.
Basically, he explained that being both director and producer is taking its toll and is a very stressful job so he will retire as producer, but will stay as director,
which is the job he actually cares about - no more promoting the game, but being able to focus on the actual decisionmaking what goes in the game and what doesn't.
Not the one that actually matters, the one that decides on content. So you better leave while you still can![]()
In all honesty, none of those would make me quit and have dealt with most of those to some extent. It is actually very difficult to make me quit something I am as committed to as FFXIV. What it takes is something has to take away my enjoyment of playing the game. This is what made me seal the coffin once and for all on FFXI. Any number of things can cause this. XI was a combination of friends leaving, linkshell disbanding, and the expansion ToAU changed the game as I knew it and ripped everything that was good from my main job (Red Mage). Despite all of that, I still tried but the enjoyment was no longer there. A similar set of events in FFXIV would very likely do the same thing if I could not find new means to enjoy the game.Financial reasons and freeing up more personal time notwithstanding, as far as the gaming experience goes, what would potentially give you the final push to cancel your sub and never look back?
RMT interruptions?
Player disagreements?
Annoyingly excessive grinds?
Cash shop?
Abundance of loading screens?
Rank hunts?
PVP?
Frequent maintenance?
Etc?
If it ever goes f2p im done lol that would be only reason id ever quit..
Same thing it took for me to leave any MMO, My FC loses interest and stops playing.
For me as some have said, i would quit If they ever go the same route as SWTOR went. No new raids for 2 years, all updates is about cashshop and "clever" ways of resusing old content. They did bet on story but not in a way that satisfied me personally, not to mention the huge amount of bugs.
I have seen a thread about bugs on this last patch and the downtime provoked by the hotfix/ maintenance... If these ppl played Swtor they would have a mental breakdown.
As long as they continue invested in making new raids, new story, trying new things as the PoTD .. Even if they fail.. Im still in
Another umbrite-level grind step for relic.
Unless I get some drastic changes in RL commitments, I'll probably stay until the next FF MMO (if there is going to be one)
i already decided to not re-sub.
it's because the game is too casual oriented, and end-game content is swarmed by incompetent ppl.
It's an MMO, but rather than being stronger as a group, most ppl just end up wiping the party instead.
you only need to join PF pugs, to make things challenging.
every new primal they release, is getting easier and easier; Zurvan is the easiest yet, but still pugs can't do it; not a single clear pt i joined, has been able to skip 1st soar (even with 6 dps) and 90% of groups can't even deal with soar or even southern cross - only one pt could deal with tethers...once, then they wiped us on soar, and then disband.
