I think not. the last I heard was that he will continue as producer, but not as producer director of FFXIV - Yoshi-P will continue his association with FFXIV and the development team after Stormblood.
Him not being the director is the good thing. But you would not remove him from director with out a plan to move him to a new game. I think they have him as producer still jsut in case his replacement is worse they put him back.
It's from an interview with some magazine, forgot which though.
Basically, he explained that being both director and producer is taking its toll and is a very stressful job so he will retire as producer, but will stay as director,
which is the job he actually cares about - no more promoting the game, but being able to focus on the actual decisionmaking what goes in the game and what doesn't.
Not the one that actually matters, the one that decides on content. So you better leave while you still can![]()
