I don't get why we have this in the first place. Isn't there an autoattack symbol already on the enemy itself? Kind of redundant to be honest, and cluttering.

Generally, I dont understand what for this icon even exists. Every boss in the game uses auto-attack, this icon is useless because show nothing important or(and) useful
It's for your autoattack on the enemy, so the exact same thing that is on the monster's head, again on the target bar. Shows that you are currently autoattacking the monster you have engaged >_> cos apparently it's not enough info when watching your character hitting it or seeing the symbol already on the monster...
Yeah please, a toggle function would be nice. Some of us don't need all the extra info we had already displayed. Was all good before it got introduced. Makes it kinda idiotproof now and I believe we are already showing too much easy info in exchange of what's really needed. Like let us see our own debuffs on raids or fates, so we know when to fester etc (personally not interested in all those bios/miasmas from people I don't even have in my own party ty, but would love to control my own banes/festers). Wasn't there a reason behind this like a limit or whatever? So why are we filling the bar with redundant info now?

Yes, but with a ranged class it's possible that the targeted enemy may be positioned off screen. The updated auto-attack placement is more stream-lined than before, when it was placed above the target bar.
The OP just needs to move the status bar down slightly and problem solved.

Dont want to do that. What was he reason SE decided to make a change? Can answer anyone?Yes, but with a ranged class it's possible that the targeted enemy may be positioned off screen. The updated auto-attack placement is more stream-lined than before, when it was placed above the target bar.

According to the patch notes they did it to improve visibility.
Considering that it's unlikely that the developers are going to add a toggle option anytime within the very-near future I don't think you have much choice. You can alter your UI layout, or leave it as is with the auto-attack icon obfuscating part of your status bar.
