BUT I want to play with the Japanese!

As I said before, Less people is less. Even if were in international servers.I love that people have their panties in such huge knots about this.
"Excuse me? We can keep our international servers but OTHER PLAYERS who would enjoy language-specific servers are ALSO going to have an option they feel suits them best? We won't have it! Don't touch my servers! Rawr!"
^ Seriously... get over yourselves. None of you are important. People want it, they got it. /thread.

So? You're saying that players should be forced to play on international servers and that they have no right to join a language specific server if they so choose.
Playerbase wants language-specific servers. Playerbase is getting language-specific servers. Sorry, but as -I- said before, Playerbase > You.
i bet most players that are new end up going to the full wipe server so they feel like they are at an even advantage right from the start though. between that and players going to there own servers, international servers will probably be merged to 1. just thinking bout it kinda makes me worried it would be empty, like picking uldah company cause that's where all the people are.
i liked being able to log in at almost any time day or night and know i had a full community of people waking up different times that i can roll with. 3a.m or 9a.m grinds and stuff ftw lol. take warhammer, there is nothing to do 90% of the day and most the week. people log in after work 5pm or later and it dies by 2-3 the latest. games like this never work out for me, i've got nothing to do all day long or i need to find a small click to roll with and i don't like that. i enjoy the freedom of doing the basic things in game without having to depend on people. love party every day ...multiple times a day and never have the same people in group. in years of exp every day 16hrs a day u will probably barely end up with even 1 person the same in grind groups in ffxi less you try to do it that way and it was pretty awesome.
only helps with one thing maybe and that is vent, and i don't use vent lol. people will like knowing they can enforce vent like most mmo's out right now where nothing can be done without it, unlike ffxi. even though ps3 will be mixed in too right? or are they getting there own servers too? with all this dividing of people they should just make servers for casuals separately too.

Regional servers +1, go yoshi go !!
I live in the UK and don't wana do dungeon events and boss battles at 4am in the morning because I have to wait for the "majority" of my LS to sign on.
I would happily play on a UK based server so that I didn't have to deal with this bullshit.
It's not about not wanting to play with other cultures or nationalities for me its more about choice and making the game more easy to meet people in your own time zone.
Edit:- That being said the translation says language based servers which makes me sad because the UK and Australia will be lumped in with the US/Canada.

My opinion on this is the same as it was last time this came up. The people that want to be on region specific servers don't play with you now simply because they don't want to or they can't due to time difference. Nothing is going to change from most people's perspective, especially the people that (for some odd reason) want people on their server that have no intention of ever playing with them. Might as well let them have their server and your server will be full of people that will play with you, same region or otherwise.
That's good for you but bad for others like me.
I have a sporadic schedule, some times I can play 4 in the morning others 4 in the evening. I want a server to be max populated at every time I log on.
